Tolerable but only just Not the best place that we stayed in during our road trip. The poor lady who was on bar duty was totally out of her depth - so much so that we felt sorry for her, rather than frustrated with the below-average service. Our room was depressingly reminiscent of a motel room. However, the worst thing about our stay was the breakfast. Our vouchers only covered the buffet which upon closer inspection proved to be practically non-existent. We therefore resorted (like several other guests) to ordering omelettes and paying quite a lot extra.

Disgusting Booked a "recently renovated" room. Could not see any signs of a clean or well turned room. Carpet and curtains, bedspread and sheets are stained. Bathroom was full of mold and the toilet also carried stains as if recently used. The lobby, hallways, and rooms reek of stale smoke. Furthermore, as I was checking in, other guests were returning their own room keys complaining that their rooms were either already occupied or had not been serviced. Didn't even stay the night. Booked with a local Marriott for the night instead.

Amenities are falsely advertised, bad ambiance, restricted breakfast I honestly am very forgiving of a lot of motels/hotels I stay in - it's usually not the result of poor management choices, but in this case it seems like the Parkway Plaza Hotel came up short at just about everything that most hotels offer as part of the package. First, fair warning and not the hotel's fault - this a truck stop. Nothing wrong with that particularly, but we were cornered in conversation while we tried to check in by a trucker who gave a long, racist monologue about how football players are kneeling because they're muslim to protest the flag (false) and a whole line of other nonsense. The lobby stayed pretty full of truckers shooting the breeze loudly for the rest of the evening. Second, we were directed to go to the room, which was in the far side of the hotel, by going up the side entrance, which does not have access to guests. We hauled our luggage up the staircase to be greeted by a door that only had an employee's keyhole and no other way of opening it, so back down the stairs we went and around the side to the next available entrance. Was it a huge inconvenience? No, but the service should know better. Third, this hotel advertises it has free wi-fi. This is half-true. The room we had did not have a signal for wi-fi, which we needed to do work. I spoke with reception about the issue, and then brought down my laptop to take a look at the settings with them. Once I got to the lobby, the wi-fi signal was working, so on a hunch I kept the laptop open and walked it back to our room. The signal dropped about 4 doors down from our room. I called to ask reception if there was anything they knew about that, and they said that "maybe because so many people were staying there, the signal wasn't good". Anyone who knows anything in tech knows that's wrong - they simply did not provide the proper wi-fi network extensions to accommodate all their rooms. Which wouldn't be a problem, if they hadn't advertised free wi-fi, but they do. If your lights don't work in your hotel room, you'd want your money back. I certainly want my money back knowing that we chose this hotel based on their advertising free wi-fi, so that we could complete some work in our room. Fourth, the mattress in our room had about a square-inch piece of metal frame sticking out from under it, which was the cause of a painful injury. The room was otherwise clean but the condition of the room has to take some hits when you have a piece of metal sticking out from underneath the bed at shin-height! Fifth, and final. In the morning, we went to the complimentary breakfast, which was some pastries, cereal, coffee, the usual set-up, except for one difference I have never seen in my life of staying in hotels, ever - a big sign in front of the hot food bar saying "Eggs and hash browns are for paying customers only". I just didn't even know what to think of that. Unbelievable! You actually have link sausage next to the sign that's available, pastries, yogurts, and literally the cheapest thing to buy and make, eggs and potatoes, are forbidden from customers staying at your hotel? That was laughably poor service. Needless to say, if we ever find ourselves having to stay in Casper again, we won't stay here, and we're going to do our best to warn everyone we know away from it.

Fine for an overnight stay We stayed here for a night while traveling through the area with our dogs as they are pet friendly. They do charge, in my opinion, a rather high pet fee of $25/night. We were able to get a 1st floor room with exterior access as desired. The room was small but clean. The bathroom was also clean but very small. The bathroom door could not be opened all of the way because the toilet seat was not properly fitted and extended beyond the toilet, blocking the door from fully opening so you needed to step partially into the bathroom to close the door to access the toilet as well as the tub. It was a little awkward. There was a breakfast buffet but I did not eat there.
