Crabtree Kittelhouse Restaurant Went for thanksgiving dinner as it was just the two of us this year. We were a bit hesitant given mixed reviews however our experience was positive. Waitstaff very pleasant and attentive. Food fresh and well prepared from appetizers to dessert. Can’t comment on mixed drinks as we stuck with wine. The house was charming and If we were to be uber critical we could understand why some past reviewers suggested that a a bit of a refresh may be positive for things like drop ceiling in dining room (it’s a bit stark for the space ) drapes and hardware… little touches that would go a long way. Overall we had a very nice time and would return.

The Inn is much too noisy for a decent stay. We suggest that you read the reviews before you stay here. Unfortunately it is just too noisy and the management is extremely unapologeric and impolite. This, even after we asked, when making our reservation, for a quiet room. This business makes it's money from its restaurant and it should not offer accommodations which are below par because of the noise.

Disappointed We were excited to find a place that was central to places we were going on our stay. First the staff is very very aloof. Very factual not a pleasant welcome. Our room was comfortable and spacious but the acoustics are awful. The first night we were there we were awakened early by kids above us running around above us and being loud. We had dinner there one night and the food was good but again the service was not friendly. Our waiter kept lingering wanting us to order and it was uncomfortable. Breakfast was beyond disappointing. We expected something a little nicer. there were prepackaged cereals and instant oatmeal. The homemade yogurt and fresh fruit was good but were put on the buffet table in very small bowls and when it was gone there was no one around to refill the table. We expected perhaps croissants or scones but here was just like an Italian bread to toast, apple pie which we suspect was left over from the dinner menu the night before, and small pieces of a bread pudding which were't very good. The lady who was on duty in the breakfast area was again very unfriendly. We stayed 2 nights and when we checked out we were never asked how our stay was or thanking us for staying there. Although the location was perfect for us, we would not go back again.

Wedding weekend Wonderful wedding in every way, and a lovely place to stay! The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and made us all feel welcome and completely at home. I can’t wait to go back for a delicious lunch and though I live near even a weekend visit! Mother of the Groom

TERRIBLE- Total rip off We tried to reach out to management to discuss a discount or refund based on the terrible and totally inappropriate experience we had. There was mold all over the shower and the room smelled of mold, dust and mildew and sent our allergies through the roof. The bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever encountered. But worst of all- we awoke in the morning to a male worker on a ladder right outside our window looking in- thank goodness we weren't naked or otherwise. This was such a violation and highly NOT OK. When I reached out to the owner, I received no response. Horrible horrible horrible on every level. Don't be fooled by the "old charm"- it's totally run down and if a man is peering through your window- they don't care!
