The Ryder Hotel was the one solitary bright spot of an otherwise ruined trip. Due to cancelled flights by AA, we were forced to changed plans for a large group. Instead of heading to Key West, we had to make a day-of change and ended up in Charleston. Not only were the people at the Ryder polite and accommodating to speak with (little of that earlier in the day with American Airlines) they were able to move things around and get us all last minute rooms (6). While there, we enjoyed the location and proximity to restaurants and sights, the patio, and bar as well. All great. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. They even let us sign out beach chairs, coolers, and towels - never heard of that before. If they had 12 bikes we would have done that too. Rooms were clean. When weather affected our departure plans, they even accommodated an early check out date and let us hang around until our flight times. Cannot thank enough. The service from everyone at the check in desk is professional and better yet, personable with a smile on their face and pleasant to speak with. The Ryder Hotel was the one solitary bright spot of an otherwise ruined trip.

Not worth the price I chose this hotel for its central location, and that certainly did not disappoint! However, we were brought to our room the first day of our stay and it was TINY! I could barely walk around the bed and there was no place to put our luggage. I decided to take a shower (we had been driving for hours), only to discover the toilet was not clean and shower was clogged….i was standing in inches of water after only a few minutes! The staff were exceptionally friendly and apologetic, and we were moved to a much nicer room. The next day, we decided to spend the afternoon at the pool (one of the main reasons we chose this hotel), but the waitress didn’t even acknowledge us and the pool was dirty. Very upsetting. We won’t be back.

Beautiful Gem nestled right in downtown Charleston My girlfriend and I decided to take a Stay-cation for her birthday and had a wonderful week at The Ryder Hotel. We were immediately taken with the the overall feel and design of the hotel, the staff was warm and welcoming, and check-in and valet service were on point. The room was simple, clean and comfortable with a somewhat vintage feel and perfect as a respite right in the midst of downtown Charleston. The pool and Little Palm were the perfect place to relax and enjoy, with great drink options, and really delicious food ( in particular the Tuna Tiradito which is out of this world ). The highlight was the staff (the entire hotel, but especially Little Palm). Everyone was amazing, but our most frequent experience was with Harper, who was just so wonderful, friendly and happy to offer advice on both food and drink. She really put the icing on the cake of our awesome stay! Thank you!! Can't wait to visit again.

Cute and cheery Fresh boutique hotel. Rooms are large and bedding was super comfy. Great location in the historic district. Walking distance to a variety of restaurants. Staff was very friendly and valets were very helpful and cheery. Hotel would be great for a couple or small girls trip.

The cutest hidden gem with so much to offer! Clean, cute and convenient. Super cute and oh so aesthetic but also comfortable and clean! They had a room full of toys and gadgets (bikes, skateboards, Polaroid cameras, towels, etc) that made our unplanned day to the beach so easy. This hotel is a dream and feels like a resort in downtown Charleston. The resturant and poolside bar are so convenient, not to mention delicious. They also have a cute coffee bar area. But if you’d prefer to eat elsewhere, there are tons of restaurants in walking distance, which was so nice! They have truly thought of everything and I would highly recommend! Also, it may be worth calling because they price matched our rates for us which was nice! I really felt like the staff had our best interests in mind. Everyone we met was very hospitable!
