Always cold. We decided to take an impromptu vacation but our experience turned out to be a disaster. The hotel room was clean but the bathroom had a major drainage problem. We called maintenance for the drainage problem and because the room tablet/ WiFi was not working. After being told they would be there right away, we waited and waited and they never showed up but reset the WiFi and decided that was enough. We ended up leaving to try and get on with our daily activities. We ate all our meals at the Mill Room and no matter who was our server, every meal was cold. Breakfast buffet was cold and had a film over the top of the eggs from sitting too long. Dinner was the biggest let down; started strong with the appetizers but took us over 2 hours to receive our main course. When it finally arrived we could tell it had been sitting under the heat lamp for way too long because the outside was warm but the inside was once again cold. I would understand more if they were super busy or an emergency had happened but a number of tables had arrived after us, received all their food, and well on their way to finishing desert by the time we received our dinner. For the price of the meal we would have been better off going into town and receiving a much better dinner and overall service. On our last day we planned to have a lazy morning but we were woken up at 730 by housekeeping “checking” to see if we were still in our room. Checkout is 11 and it happened 2 more times after that point. We ordered room service for breakfast at 9 and we received it at 1045- giving us 15 mins to “enjoy” it. When it arrived I’ll let you guess what temperature it was… that’s right, cold! Every now and then we try to take a small vacation over the weekend with friends but we won’t be back. If you go I hope your experience was better than ours.

Weekend getaway My wife and I took a quick getaway trip to celebrate our anniversary. We had not been to Boar's Head since our daughter graduated from UVA in 2021. It was exactly the relaxing weekend we were looking for. The staff was accommodating and friendly. We are already talking about our next trip to Boar's Head

Super comfortable, Fine dining and Basketball! Booked a staycation for my wife and I. We had two great nights! We had a premier king room with a balcony. Very well thought out and comfortable space. Dinner and room service was exceptional. The facilities outdo any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. As a guest, you are able to utilize a full fitness center gymnasium and fitness classes which we did. The adults only pool and kids pool were excellent. The spa was also very elegant and relaxing. We also utilize the complementary Lexus SUV to drive into town for a little shopping. We will definitely be back.

Great yet not as expected As a traveler that always likes to go to nice resorts rather than the national chain hotels, this resort is pretty much in par with other luxury resorts the grounds are beautiful and a very nice area the service is also very helpful, the rooms were big and spacious we stayed in a suites which was very spacious two rooms although the air conditioner in our room was extremely noisy and outdated, the amenities in the hotel are also very broad a lot of different kind of things to do, with lots of indoor things to do due to the hot weather, they also have a adult pool which I didn't use because I went with my son 6 years old, so we went to the other pool which has a slide for him we were hoping we can enjoy it, but the pool area is run by a bunch of tweens, that act as lifeguards, they made my stay at the pool very uncomfortable as they were micromanaging every move I did, first they didn't let me take my son on the slide because he was only 46 in and the slide can only be used for 48 in. Then I just tried swimming with my son they again approached me and told me my son can only be in the other one foot pool, even though I am a licensed EMT I would never let my son swim in a pool without a puddle jumper, the lifeguards acted as a rookie cop on his first week, or like the stewardess on the planes during covid, enjoying to control you with everything you did, in most resorts I went to there is not even any lifeguard telling you what to do they just sit there in case something happens. That is why I took off one star and won't return again to this place
