28º C ou 82.4° F without air conditioning in the bedroom it is not luxury We booked 4 nights at The Greenway Hotel and Spa from july 28th to august 1st to celebrate my birthday with my husband and our two teens daughters. We came all the way from Brazil to live a dream of visiting the Cotswolds region and all the magical settings in Jane Austen's books, my favorite writer. The hotel is very charming, the gardens are splendid and the service is good. We stayed in two rooms (29 and 30), right above the spa. However, despite the extremely hot summer in the Cotswolds (temperatures of 28º C or 82.4° F) the rooms, decorated with carpets and velvet, did not have any air conditioning, just a small table fan. We couldn't sleep because of so much heat, it was a nightmare. We tried to open the curtains, but spiders, flies and other insects came in during the nights. We complained, but the hotel manager said that those rooms are actually warmer because they are above the spa, but that she couldn't do anything else. They gave us just a plate of fruit as an offering. It was regrettable to pay the price of a luxury hotel and not be able to sleep properly during our vacations. The hotel's website does not contain any notice stating that the rooms do not have air conditioning, witch is an amenity that you can find in all luxury hotels I never had this terrible experience at any other "luxury" hotel. I understand it´s an old construction, but a portable air conditioning for this hot days and hot bedrooms shoud be easily provided by a "luxury" hotel. Greenway was a frustation.

Oasis of quality near Cheltenham An oasis just outside Cheltenham set in beautiful grounds with large lawns, terraces and great views of the Leckhampton hills beyond. The building is listed and is well decorated. The rooms are excellent although not air conditioned. The staff were exemplary on reception, the spa, and restaurant. The food was very high quality with a good wine list. Close to Cheltenham for a visit and the surrounding hills.

Wonderful relaxing stay I recently visited with a group of girlfriends for a midweek birthday celebration. We selected Master rooms which were really spacious. Our afternoon tea was fantastic and all the food we had during our stay was of a high quality. Spa treatments were amazing, the only slight negative was that the pool is very small so you can't really do much swimming when a couple of people are using it. The staff were exceptional throughout the hotel, with a special mention for Daniel who looked after us so well at breakfast (thanks for bringing larger teapots to accommodate us!). I would definitely return and will start dropping hints now!!

Girls spa weekend My best friend and I ended up here for a spa weekend after our original booking at another hotel was cancelled and we were really pleased it had! The hotel is beautiful, our room was lovely, the spa facilities were great. So nice to have the outdoor hot tub and the jets in the main pool. We had a full body massage included in our package which for me was one of the best I've ever had. Unfortunately my friends wasn't so 'full body' and seemed to skip hands and feet and the gorgeous smelling products which was strange. We had cocktails which were lovely and usual hotel prices, a three course dinner which was excellent quality and breakfast the following morning - couldn't fault any of it. Would definitely recommend.
