The room was clean The room was clean, the lobby was clean. The breakfast was meh. The pool seemed to be the place to be as it was always in use with plenty of children. Overall we loved the hotel. But this hotel really needs some attention. The staff were accommodating.

Find another hotel to stay at. This place is a dump! This place is a dump!!! Motel room smells extremely musty. White curtains were torn and had brown stains. Hair dryer didn't work. Shower had very low water pressure. Bathroom sink faucet drips. Only soap was one small bar of soap. Hallway was very hot. Electrical outlets were very loose and electrical cords dropped out of the electrical outlets. Strong odor of dope in the parking lot everyday. Someone wrote on the bathroom door by scratching the paint of the back of the bathroom door.

Room is fine, customer service isn’t The lobby of this hotel is nice, so is the continental breakfast. I have stayed at several different budget hotels in the immediate area, the rooms here are on par with any others. There were some cleanliness issues as pictured (hairdryer was gross and had old hair tangled in it). My big issue was the front desk service. We called around 10am to ask if there was any possibility for early check-in, and we were told we could check in at 2pm. When we arrived at 1:45, the same front desk agent we spoke to on the phone looked at us like we were idiots and pointed to the “check in: 3:00pm” sign. We told him we spoke to him on the phone earlier about early check in, and he flat out denied that this conversation occurred (“you must have spoken to someone at Choice HQ”…. No, we called the hotel with the local area code). Only after more back and forth did he even bother to check to see if a room was ready. And WHAT DO YOU KNOW, it was! So much for feeling valued as a Choice rewards member! Because of this interaction I will probably stay at other area properties in the future.

Hot tub broken. I agree with the other reviews. Looks are deceiving. Room was adequate no phone and you hear every door open and close. We booked because it stated that they have a hot tub. It is green in color and doesn't work. All doors in the pool area are rusty. They do have a great lobby and breakfast, but otherwise not happy with the experience.

Choose a different hotel Upon arriving I glanced at the breakfast area and it was a mess. The floor was sticky and there was cereal and garbage on all of the counters. Being that it was 4 pm, I took that as a bad sign. This hotel was probably not the best choice. When we got to our room we opened the door and was greeted by a burst of hot air and a musty smell- the air conditioner didn’t work. We called the front desk and he came up and tried to get it to work. After no luck, he assigned us a new room. We shlepped our stuff (and 2 kids) to our new room. Thankfully that room had cool air flowing. I took my kids to the pool since they had been in the car for 7 hours and needed to burn off some steam. The pool was kind of an off-putting greenish color, but we went in anyway because I promised my kids. I was a little grossed out, but they had fun. I didn’t like that the door to the pool area was kept open the whole time. The pool area is right off of the lobby, and if my two year old ran off and into that room he could run right into the pool. It seemed like that door should not be left open at all times- kind of a dangerous situation for the littles. Not that we will ever be stopping in Chester, Virginia again, but if we did, we would definitely choose a different hotel.
