Great location but poor service We stayed at the embassy suites by Hilton river north for 2 nights and were totally disappointed. When we checked in the hotel, we were wowed by the location and the look of hotel which looked posh and clean! The check-in was ok and our room was very clean, the beds were double beds which was ok. Then it went downhill from there. The morning breakfast from 6:30-9:30 is like a fish market. Only few of the elevators work and if you are on the top floor, you won’t be able to get an elevator down to Mezzanine to get breakfast. We family of 5 had to hitch separate rides from the 6th floor. Simple task of using an elevator became a game of strategy. Either the hotel needs to make all elevators operational or increase the hours of breakfast from 6:30-10:30 like they do on the weekends. Second thing is the staff here is either frustrated with too many guests or the management is not doing a good job of managing their employees. My room was not cleaned for my entire duration of stay. I understand if they don’t change bed sheets but how about taking out the trash? Or used towels. I told the front desk repeatedly and they said someone will come and no one came. I even got a text from someone named Harvey as to how my stay was and when I told Harvey no one cleaned our room, he said someone will and when I texted him again..seemed like a bot repeating same thing. I had to go and get new towels which is not a big deal but if I have to take out trash and fetch new towels in a hotel, they better communicate that with me so that I know. Unacceptable. Actually after the stay all the pomp and awesome location of this hotel goes out the window when they can’t seem to take care of their guests. My last stay at any embassy suites and the hotel should really work on finding better ways to manage their guests or hire someone who can

Great for families with young children Great rooms, great location and amenities, staff. The only thing that was weird was the elevators. They only had one out of four working at a time most of the time. It was especially hectic during breakfast and after firework showing. A lot of reviews say the same. It's a mystery.

A Friendly, Hospitable, and Clean Stay The staff were all very helpful, the rooms were extremely comfortable and personalized, and the breakfast was full of selection. This hotel is in an EXCELLENT location in the city, so my family and I could easily get to and fro without traveling too far. Loved Embassy Suites: Chicago Downtown River North!

Great Place to Stay in Downtown Chicago This is a very lovely property. Our room was clean and spacious. We did not find much that appealed to us at the evening receptions, but the breakfasts included a wide variety of options. The staff were friendly, and the location was convenient to public transit.

A good over crowded hotel. The hotel is very good. Neat and clean. Breakfast was good but for people like me who are vegetarians it is a curse all over the world including this hotel. Also, happy hours are exploited by residents of hotel to the tilt. The house keeping is just o.k but we have to request for it. The lifts are operating as if they are in slumber mood giving all residnets a tough time through out the day. No amenities in the room and we have to ask for everything. The location of course is great absolutely and the italian restaurant attached to it is great in taste.
