Great Job Overall, it was a very good stay, and I recommend the Hyatt Place Chicago-South/University Medical Center for anyone seeking comfort and excellent service. With a few enhancements to the breakfast menu, the experience would be even better.

No Power, But still a Vibe This hotel is wonderful and the staff are just a joy. Came for a book festival and it sits right in the heart of Hyde Park area. The vibe is beautiful and very multicultural and fun! There was NO bad food anywhere. It was truly a beautiful stay, until the hotel lost power. Oh, it wasn't just the hotel, but the whole side of the street that went out. Power didn't come back on until 4:am. It was very upsetting, but the staff did the best they could. Even with the power outage it was till a total Vibe! Love it!

I absolutely love the staff and management at this Hotel They actually go out of their way to make your stay pleasant and that made all the difference. The young lady with the blonde hair was so friendly and delightful. The manager, Shinetta, constantly address each of our family members with a smile and assurance she was available if needed.

Great hotel. Poor staff, poor parking. Great hotel. Rooms are clean, breakfast is good, hotel is secure. Poor experience with staff. Paid for parking but unable to access the parking facility.

I wouldn't visit right now- lots of construction and very unpleasant check in process We were not very happy with this visit. Negatives: If you are hoping for a nice view of the city I wouldn't visit until the construction is done. It was almost impossible to find the hotel with all of the roads to the hotel being closed for construction. The front desk worker was very unhelpful and rude and didn't seem to understand what the problem was with the fact that we literally couldn't even find the hotel or parking garage with every single entrance being closed. They had a few rules that they didn't have any signs or information about, like needing to put your license plate information in their book so you don't get towed. Even though they checked us in and gave us parking information they didn't tell us this until my husband mentioned the parking garage when he went down to get snacks before bed. The worker that CHECKED US IN acted like she had no idea we had parking and like it was our fault we didn't know to write down our license plate info. No vending machines, just extremely overpriced bottled drinks and underbaked cookies at the front desk. Very dirty and gross bathroom in the pool area The couch was a little dirty and had a big stain on it but no other cleanliness issues that we noticed. Pillows were hard as rocks and extremely uncomfortable. Positive: Breakfast was good with lots of options. The beds and blankets were comfortable and the room and bathroom were clean. My kids had fun in the pool and slept well We didn't have any loud or unpleasant neighbors. The woman that checked us out was very friendly and pleasant and other than the main worker that we interacted with on our first day, all of the other employees we encountered were friendly and professional.
