The noisiest, coldest place we've ever stayed. We were directed by friends to the Ohio House Motel but our trip to Chicago was nearly ruined by our stay. We booked a room with a king bed and sleeper sofa for our teenage son and were given the room on the second floor pictured in the thumbnail above. Immediately upon entering, we were struck by how cold it was in the room but couldn't find a control. We called the desk and they told us the temperature was controlled by them. I found that odd. We asked for them to turn it down and eventually it got to normal temps. There's a working air conditioner in the room so if we wanted it cold, we could have controlled that. The hotel is conveniently located, for sure, but it's also located right on a cruising strip for motorcycles and cars with loud soundsystems. The first night we were there, we were kept awake by the revving of the bikes and the booming subwoofers of the cars. When we mentioned this to the clerk in the morning she readily admitted that it was something that happened every weekend in the summer. Other friends from Chicago also knew about this but, unfortunately, were too late to warn us. The street noise went on well into the wee hours and I eventually had to play a white noise app on my phone to drown it out but probably only got 3 hours of real sleep. The next night, there was a group of guests who spent the night from about midnight to 4 am partying in the parking lot right next to the office and below our room. Not sure why the desk clerk, who could clearly hear and see these revellers didn't try to quiet them down but at least I was prepared with the white noise this time and got a few more hours of sleep. In addition, there was a broken window latch in our room that made it impossible to close the window properly and that let in more noise. The sofa bed was little more than a sheet placed over springs. My poor son toughed it out but he said it was awful . If we were paying discount rates, I wouldn't complain, but this was not a cheap stay at $525 for two nights. I'm sure we could have done better in the area at that rate. I know everything is expensive nowadays, but this was ridiculous. I sent an email to the manager of the property but, haven't heard back so I assume they don't care. On the plus side, the parking is free and the breakfast across the street was decent. The king bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful but the property itself is a nightmare. Don't stay here.

It's a theft terrible expirience without been there. I made a mistake on the date when I booked online, and I realized when I received the confirmation email. I called to change the date and they charged me 100% . They made me paid for a night, knowing that wouldnt be there. They wanted me to pay the full price again to change the date. I understand if they charge certain amount but the full price is ridiculous.

Great little motel in the heart of the city! I was looking for a reasonably priced place with free parking in the city of Chicago. I found this little gem and it was perfect for my needs. Price good. Free parking. Breakfast included at the coffee shop next door. Location central to everything--you can walk a half mile to get to the Miracle Mile and a smidge farther to the Wendella River Boat Tour location. Rooms and furniture have been updated. Only negative is some cracking paint in the bathroom (moisture issues in bathrooms natural though, so it didn't bother me). Everything was very clean.

Nice Motel We stayed for 1 night while visiting Chicago. We were pleasantly surprised, The rooms were small but clean. We got free parking and breakfast. The location was pretty good too. Our only complaints are the noise inside and outside the hotel. Maybe the windows should be thicker. There was also a large space at the bottom of the door which led to hearing doors slamming shut all night. All in all, we wouldn't hesitate staying there again.
