Reunion Very nice room. Nice facility overall. Most everything extra has a fee. WiFi day rate for low and higher $ for broadband. Parking is not free, ramp $35/night, validate at front desk for in/out privileges.

DO. NOT STAY HERE I stayed at the Chicago Lakeshore Hotel on June 17-18, 2023, and my experience was terrible. The room smelled like mold and damp, and there was visible mold around the bathtub. The carpet was filthy, and I saw bugs crawling along the baseboards on the floor. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values cleanliness and hygiene.

Don't Do It!!!! Awful! The smoke detector didn't want us to be there on room entry. Wouldn't stop beeping. They told us to suck it up,it's just one night of incessant beeping. They would not replace the battery or give us another room. Had to figure that crap out ourselves or suffer! And their attitude to our suffering was sorry, we don't care. The entire weekend was fraught with one dirty thing after another not going right. And every time I called them, when they actually picked up, they had an attitude. I had to call twice just to get towels. And they made it sound like it was my fault that I used towels. I will never, ever go back there. And I came to town for Andrea Bocelli. Beautiful concert. Will never ever stay at Chicago Lake Shore Hotel again. If it wasn't for an amazing concert, my entire weekend would have been an overpriced crap show.

The Hotel has a Great Lobby You know something is not quite right, as your car pulls up to the hotel. What you’re seeing is a smallish motel or Section 8 apartment unit, posing as a hotel. The blocks of rooms are separate from the large lobby area. The smoking rooms are on one side of the parking lot and the non smoking on the other. There are several shared units, with four or six rooms. There’s no elevator. So, be prepared for the stairs with your luggage, if you’re on the third level. The rooms are aged, but otherwise fine. The mattress will remind you of staying with an old aunt or grandmother. For the most part, the rooms are clean. There are no thrills, but there’s coffee available in the nearby lobby. The lobby area looks OK, if you don’t look too closely. Some of the chairs are worn out and fading, but there are several different seating options. The front desk staff is fine. The desk has a list of nearby restaurants. Use your phone for directions. Women, beware. The toilet in my room was no where near the toilet paper roll. Unroll some, before you go or drag a line of it across the floor, before you sit down. The bottom line is this hotel it a lot like its view of Lake Michigan. It’s there, but you just can’t quite see it.

Review based on budget hotel This review is based on a budget hotel - so not to be compared with expensive hotels. Our room was small but adequate. Furnishings and decor were a little outdated but the bed was comfortable and the bed sheets were pretty. We had some problems with our key but the front desk was quick to help us. We had great service and the wifi was good. We loved that we were across the street from the lake and could see it from the property. But please note, you can't get to the lake/beach from the property. It's just a few minutes drive to the beach. Neighborhood was pretty with lots of green and was easy to get around by car to nearby restaurants. Parking in the neighborhood was pretty good when we went to restaurants. We thought that the pool was closed perhaps because of the cooler weather, but it's definitely in disrepair. Not sure if they'll ever fix it. Also, not a lot of TV stations and no HBO. We'd definitely come back the next time we're in Chicago!
