Grand indeed … mostly My family (2 adults, w young adults 18-20yo) stayed for 6 days. We booked an Illinois Suite with an adjoining room. I am glad we did. We were located on the 16th floor. I really teetered on the edge of a 3-star review, but because COVID limitations are still affecting properties like this one, I am going to give the benefit of the doubt 4-stars - but there is room for improvement. First the good stuff … we absolutely LOVED the location of this place. We did not rent a car and walked most places throughout our vacation. A few short Uber trips, but you can do a lot within a few blocks of this hotel. We walked to Navy Pier, Millenium Park, Buckingham Fountain, the Magnificent Mile, the Riverwalk, cruises for both Lake Michigan and the Chicago River, restaurants, and more from this location. Also, there is a Target, a Walgreens, and a Whole Foods all within two blocks - convenient. There are tons of choices for restaurants nearby — just not inside the hotel (more on that later). There is a movie theater one block away. There are a number of museums within walking distance. The rooms were very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The array and quality of toiletries (and including mouthwash and shaving cream) were above average. The suite was spacious and had a nice table we used for playing games. Most interactions with the hotel staff were very good - with a few exceptions noted below. Maria at the front desk was great. We really appreciated her recommendations. The lobby and common areas were clean and nicely appointed. The real kicker in this place (next to location) is the VIEW - it is amazing. To be clear, if we had not (paid extra) to stay in a river view room, this would have been a 3-star review. We could see Lake Michigan, the Riverwalk, and the endless parade of boat traffic on the river - it was beautiful and entertaining. The not so good … most of the restaurant options (all but one with counter service) were closed during our stay. I assume that they are using the COVID downtime to make renovations. Because I knew this is advance, I did not take away stars for this, but it was a bit annoying to have to leave the property just to sit down and have a drink or snack. Hopefully, they will reopen and add to the positive side of the equation for future reviewers. Also not so good - though we had a suite with a ‘kitchenette’ - that was really an extra sink and coffee maker. NO MINIFRIDGE; NO MICROWAVE. Really, Sheraton? BOO. And, finally, the bellman were generally unhelpful and borderline rude - except for one. I wish we could remember his name because he was very nice, but at least three others during the week of our stay were TERRIBLE. One flat out told us to leave him alone and call an Uber when we asked him where we might find a cab. Finally, aside from the river view rooms, the Sheraton really should consider a rooftop terrace or even on a lower floor terrace where guests can enjoy the beauty of the view and downtown location without being behind glass. So to sum up - the view and the location are the key to enjoying this hotel. Housekeeping does a great job, especially in an older building with somewhat dated furnishings - very clean, very comfortable. Management should really reconsider the ‘no fridge’ position - particularly in suites. You need a terrace or place to enjoy the view other than from your guest room.

Very Poorly Run We stayed here for three nights in July/August. The location is great, but that is basically it. The rooms look like they have been updated in places, but otherwise appear dated and worn. (See, e.g., the wallpaper peeling off in the bathroom.) The second day we were there, the room was never made up. When I asked about it at the front desk, the front desk employee shrugged her shoulders and offered a $40 credit. The checkout was a complete mess: the line was snaking around the lobby, and it took a full 25 minutes to get to the front desk. Yes, this was around/during Lollapalooza, but that just means that the hotel had ample warning that things might get busy. We will not come here again and will look to other hotel brands in the future.

Wonderful Stay Wonderful experience. The hotel was packed due to lalapoolza, which is why we were there. The staff was amazing( Andrew) as well as others and the room was spacious and clean. We stayed on the 25th floor and the housekeeper who dilengtly worked from a.m. to p.m. was absolutely wonderful. Wished I would of gotten her name, because she truly deserves a raise. Great experience, we cannot wait to come back!!!!

Thank you Sheraton Grand! Our first trip since Covid started and the Sheraton Grand made it memorable. We knew when we booked that all the restaurants/ bars were not open and that housekeeping had to be requested, but the staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating! The concierge was not staffed, but the front desk helped us book an architectural tour, the Chicago Burger restaurant that was open made a great burger and great frozen drinks and ending each day sitting on the comfy couches along the River Walk was awesome. Thank you for helping make our first venture out in over a year a memorable week for our family.

Limited Amenities and Food Options at the Sheraton Grand Hotel I chose to stay at the Sheraton Grand Chicago based on its location on the Riverwalk. We did arrive at the hotel prior to check in time and we were given a room right away. I did ask what restaurants were open. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon only the Link Cafe and the Chicago Burger Company were open. We were provided with a list of restaurants in the neighborhood. During our stay we went to both the Link Cafe and the Chicago Burger Company and I recommend both places. Our biggest knock on the hotel was that we were not notified that our room would not be cleaned during our stay. I called Guest Services and had the new towels I requested in under 5 minutes. There was also no room service available during our stay. As a Marriott Bonvoy member I was disappointed in the lack of transparency in regard to, the limited amenities at the Sheraton Grand Hotel.
