Disappointed!! We’ve consistently stayed at the Silversmith when we come to Chicago, although it’s been awhile. I read recent reviews about frustrations with no valet parking and the restaurant being closed due to COVID, so I was a little leery. However, the website indicates these amenities are currently available and with Chicago reopening, I decided to book it. My reservation lists “valet parking $66” so I didn’t call to check. I was shocked at check in to learn they are not offering valet parking and their restaurant is still closed. This completely stressed me out because driving and trying to park in Chicago is nerve wracking. The only constellation they offered was a couple of free appetizer coupons to local restaurants. The young woman at the desk did offer to help me find a reservation at a different hotel with valet parking, but after a long day that was more than I wanted to deal with. She was kind enough to walk down the street and make sure I was pointed in the right direction of the parking garage. I feel bad that she had to experience my anxiety because it is not her fault, it is a sign of poor management. SILVERSMITH MANAGEMENT: YOU NEED TO UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE TO ACCURATELY REFLECT YOUR AMENITIES IF YOU WANT REPEAT BUSINESS!!!!!

Fantastic Service Frank Leone and his team went far above and beyond in providing incredibly helpful service to me in a difficult situation that I experienced at the hotel. They were honest, efficient, forgiving and understanding through a stressful situation. Great work; really appreciated!

Very nice stay in Chicago We were in Chicago for a quick overnight to celebrate being fully vaccinated! We'd hoped to stay at a hotel we usually stay at down the block, but it wasn't open yet, so I chose the Silversmith instead. This is a wonderful location for the Art Institute of Chicago and the Millennium Park as well as the Loop, a bit far for all of the Riverwalk, unless you really like walking. It was about a 6 minute walk from the Washington stop on the Blue line from O'Hare airport. The hotel was extremely quiet, no guest or street noise at all. The room was very clean and comfortable with two double beds. The bathroom was good sized with a nice shower but small sink area; tough for two sisters to spread out! I don't think any of the restaurant or other amenities in the hotel were open yet. Not sure if there is usually room service or not, but we ordered online ahead breakfast from Goddess and the Baker across the street and just popped over there to pick it up. Worked out very well. Not a lot of things were open around the hotel, particularly on the Monday of our stay. That may be pandemic-related and that may change as Chicago reopens. This fit the bill for what we were looking for.

Wonderful Hotel This is my third stay at the Silversmith. It has a great art deco look. Room are so comfy and spacious. The bathroom is large and plumbing great. The bed is so comfortable and cozy, you will want to stay in. The hotel is located in the middle of everything in The Loop. It is easily accessible by bus and metro. The from desk person, named Lady, was a delight. We chatted a few times, when she was not busy. She also gave me various recommendations. I can't wait to return.
