Beautiful Hotel on the Mile I love being able to finally give a hometown hotel a 5 star review. After moving out of our apartment in Chicago and while looking for houses, we spent a few days in the Ritz Calrton. After staying at the Waldorf (least favorite), the Park Hyatt (very good), and then the Ritz, the Ritz edges out the Hyatt due to its recent update and beautiful rooms and lobby. We spent some time on the terrace bar which was also quite nice in the evening. We were also impressed by the personalized service. After checking in with London (who was really excellent) and shared our housing troubles, she asked us thereafter every time if we had found something (even if an hour later, which was fun). Then another employee Zack actually did know a house for sale! While it wasn't a match for us, it was nice talking to him about it. Zack also checked us out with a professional and personal approach. I want to come back to just to chat with both London and Zach more, awesome people. Overall, this hotel makes it easy to be in Chicago, and feels super luxurious with the recent reno. Beautiful views from the rooms and personal service push it to 5 stars. I'll be back soon, unless we find a house....

Unparalleled service This was my second time staying at this property and it was just as memorable as the last. The Ritz continues to set the bar on customer service and experience. They pay close attention to the details and go above and beyond with every task. Upon leaving, I asked the concierge what train to take to get to Waukegan, she promptly looked up the times, trains, and correct station. As I was leaving, the concierge who gave me the directions caught up to me before getting in the elevator and had printed out all of the directions for me just in case I forgot. It just shows how the staff is constantly putting themself’s in the customer’s shoes. Well done.

LOCATION LOCATION ...CLEANLINESS We were so pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We've stayed at other Ritz properties and have been underwhelmed. This hotel from the valet staff, to check in, to the bar and restaurant and of course, the rooms was a true treat. The room was so clean as well as the shower. Usually the grout is moldy and dark. This was immaculate. The beds and pillows are so comfortable. We had a spectacular view of the pier. Again, I will say it was a luxurious stay!

Super nice, clean, hotel with a great location This Ritz is very beautiful, and clean hotel with a well appointed room. We were upgraded to a suite upon arrival. It’s a very cozy room with yummy bedding! We have a very nice view of the city and the lake. Service was excellent. Very beautiful gym where they take extra care to clean the machines. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed and Zach at the front desk was nice enough to give us a very generous check out time at no cost. This is the type of service we have come to expect from the Ritz Carlton. Zach was wonderful!!!! Would definitely stay here again.

Great Hotel but service could be personalized I thought the hotel did everything right in terms of room, cleanliness, and food quality. I didn't however think the service was personalized to the Ritz standard. Of course, it is difficult with such a large hotel, however, if they can incorporate small gestures to make the experience more personalized it will become the only place to stay in Chicago. Also, want to echo comments that the location as a tourist is perfect.
