Don’t go Pool closed for maintenance on arrival and one day after. Beach covered with stinky seaweed/algae so toxic. Italian restaurant only open every other night. Food there was good but when we requested coffee after dinner were told it was unavailable as they”were cleaning the pot”.lots of rooms being redone. Our handicapped room was a good quarter mile from desk/pool/taxis etc. Short staffed. Buffet food only good at breakfast.

Best kept secret. You won’t be disappointed Best beach, soft sand, crystal clear water. No seaweed! Parts of the beach have rocks in the water but 100 yards tj east of the resort, the entire beach going east is fabulous! The snorkeling at the southern most point was superb, best kept secret. The resort staff is wonderful and they try their best. Relax and enjoy. It’s about the beauty of nature , sun, sky and water. Lots of good restaurants near for dinner. Free Breakfast has lots of options. This resort recovered from the hurricane nicely.

Worth the price with the right expectations My husband and I stayed here from 7/6-7/13 and had a wonderful stay. I can understand some of the complaints but my husband and I aren't super fussy and we read plenty of reviews before booking so we had somewhat an idea of what to expect. Above all else, BRING SUNSCREEN. The UV index was 11 all week, I wear spf 50 daily anyway but almost everyone around us was sunburnt. We stayed in room 108, a beachside king. The room was very clean. There is a door hanger to put on the door to indicate if you want the room serviced or not (two sided, if it isn't on the doorknob I believe they would enter to clean the room). We did this twice during the week, they did a good job and replaced the towels and linens and changing the trash. We had a walk in shower, it's a waterfall shower but the pressure was really good and the water was hot. I was pleasantly surprised how easy the sand washed off given the type of showerhead. There is a hairdryer but I had brought my own so I didn't use it. There is a big closet with hanging space on one side and shelves on the other. There was a small couch and it was very comfortable. There's a TV but we didn't use it, no cable but you can login to your netflix. There is a fridge in our room that was stocked with sodas and water when we first arrived, it did not get restocked (except for water the first time we had the room cleaned) but the staff gave you whatever you wanted to bring back to your room, from both the Bar and the Waves restaurant. I also brought my Owala water bottle with me and had no issue getting it filled by staff the entire stay. There is a coffee maker with different coffee pods available in the room but we didn't use it. Upon arriving you are greeted at check in (Liz was amazing throughout our stay) and are handed a rum punch with locally made Cruzan Rum. They give you wristbands that have your room key on them and indicate to staff that you are a guest for the all inclusive resort. It tightens with a bead and does not come off (they tighten it to your comfort and I suggest cutting off the excess ribbon lest you accidentally tighten it more like my husband did). There is a $100 fee if you lose your bracelet and they take a credit card for a $100 deposit which is refundable at check out. They hand you a few papers with QR codes to map of the Resort, general information, and to menus for each dining option including hours of operation-- the menus were not updated for what was available at the Bar, coffee shop, or Italian Restaurant (I will get into that later). They also give you a list with weekly activities, as we were there a full week we did most of them! The illuionist, karaoke, and fire dancers were the best. I understand the noise complaints, the music doesn't stop until 11pm, it was only super obnoxious when the DJ was there (I think that was Wednesday night). Our room was also very close to the bar and pool, so it was probably louder for us than it would be for someone further away. Occasionally some butt head would set off the fire alarm from smoking and that was LOUD and took quite a few minutes to shut off. A lot of reviews mention the seaweed on the beach, it is very evident they do their best to groom the beach-- if you look over to the left (staring out at the ocean) past the cement property line you can see what it would look like without the time and effort the staff take in keeping up with it (see pictures). It did get better throughout the week. Unfortunately Divi is located on the side of the island that has a lot of seaweed, there are daily excursions to Cramer Park from 1p-4p which is on the opposite side of the island with little to no seaweed. There is a staff person at Cramer Park with you (she was amazing) and they bring a cooler full of drinks, you can also request beverages to be put in there before departure. Other reviewers mention the food; what was available was delicious. I've added pictures of the menus that are provided via the QR Code and crossed out what wasn't available. Of note, there are no straws available here at any of the on site restaurants, had I known this I would have brought metal ones from home. Oceans Bar & Grill is open daily 10a-10p. Their menu is far limited in regards to what the menu from the QR code said. All of the bartenders and cooks were fantastic, I particularly want to shout out Rachel, Lena, Kat, Louisa, and Scott. There is a list of drinks but they will make you anything you want and they are strong; we went in to Christiansted and ate at Nate's Boathouse and they recreated the drink I had there. They refilled my water bottle, gave me cans of soda and water to bring back to the room. The food that was available was SO good! I do wish there was the variety shown on the initial menu, after a week it is easy to be sick of the available options. Waves Marketplace is open for breakfast from 8-10 and had omelets made to order, a waffle maker, bread/bagels/English muffins, and then a buffet of breakfast items including scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and home fries were every day with rotations of pancakes and French toast plus other stuff thrown in like shrimp and grits or oatmeal. There is also a waffle maker, fresh fruit, and juices. For dinner they are open Sat/Sun/Tues/Thurs with a rotating menu, we ate something different every time and it was all equally delicious. My critiques are the hours open, breakfast should really be 6:30a-11:30a for early and late risers. Dinner is open 6p-9p, and it would be nice if they did 5:30p-9:30p. It would also be nice if they had full size plates, the ones provided are salad plates. The Italian Restaurant is open Mon/Wed/Fri and requires you to make a reservation with them. The menu is again different than what is shown via the QR code and both times we went they were out of the Pork Loin and because I don't eat seafood or beef I ended up getting Fettuccine Alfredo twice (it would have been nice if they had the Chicken Parmesan). The service was also really good, Alhana was wonderful. The desserts on Monday was Tiramisu and was so good, on Wednesday it was a cookie brownie (not as good, imo). East End Coffee was mediocre although Leighla was wonderful. The food available there is limited, they are open 8a-4p. The menu isn't really accurate at all, there were items scribbled on a white board and that made it difficult to decide/see what was available. I asked for a strawberry banana smoothie and they don't use real fruit, they use puree (the kind that you would find at a bar) so I only got it once because holy sugar content, I looked it up and the strawberry puree has 45 grams of added sugar. It was literally the purees and ice, no yogurt. This was probably the MOST disappointing thing about our entire stay. They had both hot and iced coffee and hot and iced tea, I got the iced tea a few times and it was VERY strong so I ended up asking them to cut it with 50% water. I also wish they had either sweet n low or equal because regular sugar doesn't melt in iced drinks and splenda is disgusting. They did have sandwiches available for lunch, they were fine, nothing to write home about. There is a shop inside that has toiletries, magnets, sunscreen, sunglasses, St Croix shirts and totes; all of it will be billed to the room and settled at check out. It seemed like the bar in the lobby was more closed than it was open but we didn't use it once outside of them giving us the rum punch on arrival. I wish they had actual snacks available somewhere, like chips, crackers, pretzels, granola bars, etc. Sometimes I didn't want a meal from the bar but there weren't any snack options. The activity center has snorkeling gear, beach towel, paddleboard, and kayaks. We made use of the kayaks and had a great time. Some people were complaining that the casino is up and across the street from the resort but the staff is willing to drive you up there, we walked and it took us maybe 4 minutes to get there. The restaurant inside the casino is *NOT* included in the all inclusive package (thus it being off site), we did not eat there. That said, the drinks are free and STRONG (duh, they want you to get wasted and spend $$$). The pool and hot tub by the bar were great, they had floats available too. The major con was the cost of Taxis. They don't have Uber or Lyft and the fares are set by the local government. Where the resort brings you to Cramer Park it would be nice to also have an excursion to Christiansted a few times a week, it cost the two of us $20 each way and we went twice because we had no plan the 1st time and kind of just meandered around. It also cost $50 each way for the two of us to get to and from the Airport, the resort is an almost 40 minute drive away. That said, we mostly had Alex as our driver and he was so friendly and informative, he gave us a lot of historical information and we really like learning about St. Croix's history. We found it was easier to just call Alex directly to book a taxi (his number is 340-473-4896). Overall it was an excellent stay and I would recommend it to people who are laid back like we are. We plan on returning. We booked everything through the resort including flights and it cost us 6k total for a 7 day, six night vacation. The flights were almost as expensive as our stay. We felt like it was well worth the money, if we had drank that much on our normal vacation that we take to SC every year we would have spent, conservatively, $1200 ($10/drink, 20 drinks a day) not including food, tax, or tips. That's like 1/3 of the cost of what we spent booking the resort (we did purchase in February with a 20% discount). We brought $600 in cash and left with $240, most of that spent on taxis, gratituity, and the casino (we lost ~$50 after two visits between the two of us).

Exceeded expectations From the room, to the view, to the food and activities, I can strongly recommend this resort. There was an activity or entertainment or sometimes both, daily. The staff were all so genuinely nice and happy. There was food and drink available from 7 am until, I believe 1130 pm.

Know what you are getting, and you will have fun Just returned from a four day three night trip with seven other ladies. We were celebrating the anniversary of an organization we are in. I would like to start this out by saying this is not a Sandals resort. This is a local resort with local flavor that brings a special touch. The property is older and possibly could use some outside renovations. But the open lobby area where you check in is beautiful with several ocean colored waiting areas, lounging areas, and a beautiful central bar. It is open air, which is part of the Island flavor. The staff was always attentive, and you can tell different staff members play many different roles. Our rooms were ready, and, despite the older outside appearance, once you open the door, the rooms were extremely nice, very modern, had a piping, hot shower, and lots of storage space. There is a breakfast buffet in the morning, which has a variety of American foods. Remember, this is not Jamaica, you are still in the United States. The pool area was nice and the pool bar and food was fine. The staff was always willing to help, and the driver hilarious. The biggest downturn was not at the hotel’s fault, and that is the seaweed. Because of the location on the island, this is the t time of year that seaweed accumulates on the beach. There is nothing the hotel can do about this. They have a machine that is driven to clean it, but they really can’t keep up. However, they did have a free shuttle to a different beach in a different location that was not packed with seaweed. On our first night, they had karaoke, which was fun. On the second night, they had fire dancers, which was fun. On the third nights, they had stilt dancers, which was extremely fun. We had reservations at the Italian restaurant, which was our formal welcome dinner to commemorate our occasion. The staff manager went above and beyond to make sure that we were all seated together and had something special to make our night more memorable and we appreciated it. Overall, everyone had an amazing time. Biggest pros, friendly staff, hot showers, fun, drinks, great cookies, great mimosas , atmosphere. Cons, older property, seaweed, and smell of the seaweed, further location from the rest of the island life. I am sure eventually there will be renovations to make the property more modern. But where it counts, like the rooms, the mark was hit. I would like to say that I would stay here again, but it definitely would be earlier in the year when seaweed is not a big deal. It is definitely the kind of property where you can lounge and spend more of your time there then just explore in the evening. Thanks to the staff and my travel mates for a great trip.
