Glass Half Full review of the Garfield Plain and simple, this hotel is old and is in desperate need of updating. It has been let go. We paid about $120 for a Friday night while in town to see the Reds play. The location is good, as long as you're okay with downtown Cincinnati. Walking distance to many attractions. The room we stayed in was on the 8th floor and had a small balcony. The square footage is impressive, as this type/size of room could qualify as a 1 bedroom apartment. Living room, bedroom, balcony, bathroom, and a full kitchen (aside from the oven/stove being disabled due to not being up to code). Lots of space. The lobby area is a-okay. Everything past the lobby is older and worn down. On the way to our room, several of the doors had signs on them that stated "do not enter". Not sure why... not sure I want to know why. If you don't think you can get past bunched up carpet in the hallways, musty smelling corridors, imperfect wall paper/ceiling colors, do NOT stay here. I'm sure this place was very impressive when it was new - however it's hay-day was certainly decades ago. Would I stay here again? Yes. Would I encourage my parents/family members to stay here? No way.

Low Quality disgusting and dirty Absolutely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Usually I do my reviews immediately, but I blixed this one because I just wanted to forget about it. We had to haul luggage from around the corner, thru some building, up stairs, thru another building then elevators to just get to the lobby from the parking garage. The rooms were nowhere near clean. Everything was very old, the stove, fridge, furniture. the tvs were from the 80's or 90's and I am not exaggerating. Th halls were dirty with buckling old filthy carpet. This is a really bad place yo stay if you are concerned with cleanliness and your health.

DON'T STAY HERE!!!! This is literally the most disgusting hotel I have ever stayed in. You are better off sleeping in a outhouse. It probably would smell better. I never write reviews about hotels but I had such a horrible uncomfortable scary experience here I felt it was warranted to warn others. Do not stay here. The rooms have gross carpet and very old appliances that do not work. There is graffiti in the elevator. There are about 30 homeless people all outside this hotel. I did not feel safe at all walking outside the hotel. Ironically the hotel room was so scary I also felt scared to go to sleep. There is no working gym here. No breakfast options or coffee. There is nothing good about this place. Just don't stay here. Don't stay here. Unless you like sleep in disgusting creepy hotels where you feel like someone will break in your room and murder you in your sleep. Attached are pictures outside the hotel.

Think twice Our family stayed here 2 nights over Labor Day. No pool. No breakfast offered. Close to downtown but dicey area. Double shooting occurred directly around the corner after fireworks by the river. Unfortunately, lots of homeless in the area. Close to ball field. Room was adequate but thats all. Needed updating. Beds were clean and comfortable. $130 a night.

Just "OK" This hotel is severely outdated. The basic amenities are available and the rooms are large. We stayed in a one bedroom suite. The bathroom is large as well, also outdated. Our AC unit ran constantly, but the room never seemed air conditioned and the digital unit on the wall did not work. Overall a decent stay for the price, but the hotel is in dire need of updates.
