Excellent Location, Good Breakfast, Outdated Hotel The location was great for going to Spring Training Baseball and concerts I was attending. There were also many restaurants one can walk to. The breakfast was very good and the lady in charge of that area did a very good job. The room was certainly outdated and rather dark. The bathroom area was mediocre. The bed was comfortable and I did sleep well. I do not spend a lot of time at a hotel when I travel so I found this hotel to be adequate. I was charged a resort fee that was not mentioned nor included in the price when I made the reservation.

Crystal at the front desk is a real piece of work My wife booked a room here and upon checking in learned this is not a "hotel" or "inn & suites" or even worthy of that title, it's a MOTEL that's filthy. Carpet was very dirty, everything was dark and dirty, bathroom was run down, she was afraid to even touch anything in the room. She went to the front desk and asked to cancel the reservation and get a refund. My wife and I are professional people, we are business owners, we are always cordial and nice/kind to people. The very rude female named CRYSTAL at the front desk kept asking what was wrong, just wasn't nice about it at all. CRYSTAL said since we booked it through AARP we had to contact them and it was up to them for a refund. She called AARP and was told it was the MOTEL manager's decision for a refund, so she went back in and kept AARP on the phone and asked again. CRYSTAL proceeded to tell her that just because she had a problem she had to wait in line and couldn't jump ahead of people and told her to "stop being a Karen". Then she tells her it was indeed their decision (admitting she lied) and told the maintenance person standing there that "she was in the room for over an hour and now wanted a refund" and she wasn't doing to do it. She got very rude with my wife, lied to her, lied about her being in the room for over an hour, etc. We will be contacting corporate. DO NOT STAY AT THIS FILTHY PLACE THAT HAS VERY RUDE EMPLOYEES THAT TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE CRAP.

ROACH INVESTED TERRIBLE MOTEL I stayed at the Clarion Inn & Suites Central Clearwater Beach hotel on 2/9-11/24 in room 185. I really don't know where to begin. At check-in, the person was not friendly at all. A friend and I were splitting the cost of the room and whatever kind of payment she wanted to use, the machines were down and he didn't offer any other suggestions. We got to the room, and it was VERY dark, didn't smell to clean either. There was dust, dirt and grime around the base of the walls. Capret looked dirty. There was spackle in the bathroom where they had tried to fix something that was very poorly done. There was rust spots all in the bathtub/shower. Thank God I had shower shoes, I had been at the park all day, so needed to shower. Needless to say, I only used it once. Couldn't wait to get home to clean up. As I am setting up, WHAT DO I SEE BUT A ROACH!!!! OMG, the whole two days I was there, I saw several roaches! My friend didn't seem to be bothered, she said welcome to Florida (no welcome to a nasty MOTEL). Well, I have stayed in some not so nice hotels before and have NEVER seen any roaches. After that comment, I was afraid to say anything! I couldn't even eat anything at their buffet (which didn't look to appetizing) or anything off the dinner menu. I DONOT recommend this hotel at ALL!!!! BE AWARE!!!! I did not book this hotel my friend did, but I wish I had read the reviews! PEOPLE BELIEVE WHAT PEOPLE HAVE WRITTEN!!!!! I promise you, I will read reviews on any of my upcoming stays, people don't lie if they take time to write a review.

Pleasant surprise After 2 awful stays at Choice Hotel properties earlier this week, I was pleasantly surprised with this stay. First off I was warmly greeted by Crystal (I think she spells is differently). She was very friendly and efficient. You could tell she liked her job and took pride in it. My room was large, clean, quiet and comfortable. This property has been around quite a while but it is very well maintained. They have a bar on premises along with a full breakfast which has been rare at Choice property since Covid. Also there are plenty or choice very close for pretty much anything you want to eat or do. At check out I was greeted by Crystal with the same enthusiasm. I will definitely stay here on my next business trip to the area

Last time I have stayed here several times for work in the area. It is an inexpensive hotel so you usually get what you expect, not great customer service and not really edible breakfast experience. This last time will be my last time. Saturday evening no hot water at all. Forced to take a cold shower. Unacceptable.
