Poor attitude with staff The room was sketchy. You had to stand on the bed to control the air conditioner. Weird. Then it was so loud we had to turn it off. The woman at front desk who checked us in was extremely rude. She seemed genuinely put out to have to deal with us. She did the same with my daughter’s family when they checked in. For breakfast, we had a waitress who seemed put out that she had to serve us. Also, on a Saturday, no breakfast buffet as advertised?

Nowhere like it What can I say about this wonderful hotel. The building, the rooms and staff are all full of character. The bathroom was unique. Great restaurant. I found it confusing but, having given my car details to the receptionist, I was allowed to park in a “2 hours only” zone all day & night as the hotel own the street ……. There is a show in the street 6 – 7 pm Monday thro Saturday which is free (3 dollars for a seat) and is truly a “must see”. Only minor issue was there was no chair in the room (I used one on the landing). I would love to return to this hotel.

Would stay again but needed a better orientation to the hotel layout/climate control I wish I could do my one night stay over. There was confusion at check-in with the young woman at the desk giving very poor directions to our 2nd floor room. They should probably have a map since there are interior rooms in the teens and exterior rooms in the 60s. There isn't an elevator, so it was a bit of wandering around with suitcases. The parking lot was being redone so we were told we could use the bank lot next door. Our room was #15 Max Wilde. The decor was period-ish although the couch was very modern. Great bathroom with huge tub. Refrigerator and coffee maker were appreciated. Our bed was comfortable but the room was very warm. The overhead fan reached one side of the bed and the couch. The next morning I looked up and saw an Airserv type AC/heat unit in the area of one of the skylights. I wish I had known because my sleep would have been more comfortable. All in all a much better orientation to the room would have been helpful. We loved our dinner at the restaurant. The location of the Hotel is just down the road from the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. If you buy a ticket you can use it over 2 days which we did. I appreciated the history of the hotel.

Feels like being shot back in time We did not stay in this hotel so we are not reviewing based on a stay but did walk the lobby and other parts of the hotel. The photographs and art adorned areas of the hotel, creaking wood floors and carved wood throughout were like a last from the past. Modern day cowboys at the bar just led to the feelings of being caught in time. Balcony views are accessible. If you aren’t spending overnight then it could just be worth having a visit to this iconic place

History at its best Lots of history, Hotel remains as close as possible to historical features. Great buffet i. The dinning room for breakfast and Prime Rib buffet the night we were there. Quiet, in the middle of town. Walking distance to trolley and most attractions.
