Unfortunately, our stay disappointing I visited the Colorado Springs area every year as a kid in the ‘60s and ‘70s, but hadn’t stayed at The Broadmoor since then. We stayed there 6 days in July, and although the grounds are beautiful and our room was nice, I was disappointed with the experience. The food was mediocre in all of the restaurants, except at Ristorante del Lago, and very expensive. Our son and his family joined us for 3 days, and because they have small children, the reservations staff steered me to the Eastmoor Suites building, which was isolated from the main resort, and lacked nice common areas. We had to trek on over to the Main Building, or the West Building to get out of our rooms, and always felt a bit like we were interlopers. The valets were friendly, but we waited way too long every time we got our cars. This was not fun with small children in tow. We paid for admission to Seven Falls because we had made reservations at the 1858 Restaurant there, but the need for tickets was selectively enforced. One night we needed them, the other we did not. Both times we rode the Broadmoor shuttle there. Felt we’d wasted quite a bit of money when we didn’t need to show our paid admissions. The children enjoyed the playground, but it was small, and sometimes very crowded. It was not adequate for the number of children staying at the resort. The children enjoyed the indoor pool. I was glad it was available. I’m not sure I’d ever stay at The Broadmoor again.

Lovely (a few areas of improvement) We have just spent a week at the Broadmoor for our annual summer holiday. We have had a wonderful relaxing week and loved every minute particularly our walks by the lake first thing in the morning. The pool on a hot day is wonderful and the children had a blast playing there and in the little playpark. Both staff and guests have been so friendly and this is something we really value. Staff that need a special mention are 1) Mohammed (who met us on arrival and looked after us all week) and Reggie - both were so friendly and kind to us 2) chef Ana at Epicurean and her sous chef who went out of their way to accommodate our dietary requests .. always smiling etc . Her food is excellent and the bowls she makes fresh are so delicious 3) Shirley who transported us to various places - so helpful and kind. They all went that extra mile and it made a huge difference to our holiday! A few other points / areas of improvement: 1) on arrival we realized our lovely bedding was feather and asked for it to be replaced with non feather bedding due to allergies etc .. the bedding that came wasn’t nice at all.. hard lumpy pillows etc we would expect as good a quality bedding as feather !! Perhaps also it’s something that should be sorted out before arrival. 2) Whilst Epicurean offers the most wonderful fresh lunch bowls.. it is closed two days of the week. On those two days we tried packaged sandwiches from Epicuean/Julies and we thought they were poor quality. One of them was old / slightly stale and given the cost this isn’t ok!! 3) we tried every restaurant on site and the epicurean lunch (fresh bowls) were the best. Dinner was also outstanding at the Italian. We also really enjoyed the steak at the grille. The tavern sadly was a disappointment and we probably wouldn’t go back. The hotel could definitely work on its menu to provide more variety and ensure that sandwiches are actually fresh etc 4) the hotel and amenities are generally very expensive . The fact that a guest can’t even visit the spa to use the steam room etc is a shame given the amount you pay to stay there. We felt the hotel could include more perks for its guests such as this. Apart from the points above we had a wonderful stay.

We didn't really like it, but it may just be personal preference Pros: -Lots of activities for different personalities -Very family friendly -Excellent staff -Delicious food -Dogs allowed -Beautiful mountain views (you aren’t in the mountains, but you can access places with nice views of them. And they do have a train that can take you up there) -Huge grounds -Many restaurant options with great food. We had no issues with reservations and no issues with being properly dressed -Delicious sweets store -nice fireplaces -cute spots to sit in -lots of places to sit outside -the bowling alley is particularly fun Cons: - valet parking is sort of forced on you - surrounding city is ugly -can hear children crying from rooms away -loud -few healthy food offerings. Few, if any, vegan options -Leaving can be a mess. Cars backed up, stressed people --tacked-on fees left and right. Would rather pay more upfront than get there and have lots of random extra fees (on top of tipping). Made it a bit stressful because there are constant, unexpected fees and it’s already not cheap --primarily a place for large conferences and less a relaxing getaway. Neither pros nor cons (depends what you like) --the pools/hot tub close on the earlier side. If you stay up past 7pm, there’s the bar but that’s about it. Probably great for early risers/people who go to bed early --If you don’t book in advance, you might miss out on desired activities. While some places let you book on the day, it’s not always guaranteed, making advance planning necessary but less relaxing. However, if you’re fine with planning a week ahead, you can enjoy everything. I didn’t get to do what I most looked forward to, just get a massage ---Shopping areas attached, feels like you’re staying at a strip mall. I won’t be back or recommend it because staff is reportedly underpaid and poorly treated, despite their excellent service (you’d never know from them). Anonymous forums reveal this issue. I hope for pay transparency instead of reassurances. Until then, I can't recommend it as fair treatment of staff is a priority for me.

Lovely wedding with amazing service. My wife and I got married here in the summer of 2023, we had some minor issues with some of the events people in this resort, but overall the entire experience was amazing. The service and food are truly first class, all our guests that stayed at the hotel had an amazing experience. We had one of the lake terrace suites and they have everything you can imagine and more, they are comfortable and the view is amazing. This place truly has a special place in my heart and we will definitely come back.

Wife’s birthday celebration Just completed a family visit to the Broadmoor to celebrate wife’s 65 yr birthday. 17 sons, daughters friends and grandchildren enjoyed what we think is the greatest resort in the US. As always the service was amazing and timely, the grounds are exquisite, two championship golf courses that have hosted major championships, spa, nature, multiple top notch dining venues but most notably of all the staff goes out of their way to acknowledge you with a greeting as you pass during your activities It’s a huge venue staffed by over 2000 employees from all over the world and all generations but they all share that welcoming Broadmoor spirit. Yes, it’s huge, yes there are conferences, and yes it’s pricey but it’s well worth the costs and despite the conventioneers they don’t forget the families that return yr after yr. The Broadmoor remains our favorite family retreat.
