Old and Up for Sale When we booked our two night stay at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center we were excited about the amenities that were offered. We had read other comments that it was old and needed updating. We had no idea until we arrived that it was not only old and needed updating, it was going on the chopping block in less than a week in a Sheriff'a sale. None of the staff knew what the outcome was going to be, but the outlook was not good. There was no restaurant as offered. The only food offered was a cold breakfast and it was nothing to write home about. The pool was open but it was very noticeable that the care of the pool was lacking and I am sure that was because in a weeks time it was closing. Part of the hotel wasn't even open for business. Our room was nice, clean and comfortable. The internet still worked, the TV worked, and the AC kept the room comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the shower worked. It was so sad, because I am sure in it prime it was a very nice place,. I only wish we had been told ahead of time. Not sure how we would have found out except for showing up.

Good but old This place is still good to go for now. Rooms were still in good shape, pool was taken care of and public areas clean. Beds were comfy and water pressure was good. I heard they were closing or being sold soon if so putting a little work into this place would be worth it.

This is a motel not a hotel and if we weren't so tired we would check out now.... The fact that this is the ugliest motel I've ever seen is not the purpose of my review- it's the front desk and the room. No one was at the desk when we arrived. The phone was ringing and others lined up behind us. The clerk came from the back of the hotel with someone who was not an employee and they were smirking with no apologies for the wait. We are on the first floor of an outside room although this is sold as a hotel and there is no indication that rooms are motel style. The air is stale. Though the bed seems clean, the only pillows are half pillows-Like throw pillows that have standard pillow cases folded around them. The towels are grungy. The shower curtain is moldy. The ceilings are stained and has a hole. I just hope I can sleep tonight. Clarion should be ashamed and I would never use booking.com again- this is not cancelable and non refundable.

Great disappointment We were looking forward to staying a couple of days in Columbus at a nice hotel. The Clarion was once a nice hotel but it is in deteriorating condition. There were dings in the walls and doorways, falling down ceiling tiles and wallpaper in the bathroom, leaking faucet in the tub and we hoped the toilet would flush each time we used it. But the worst problem was the elevators. One was shut down completely and the other only worked sporadically. My husband has had 8 surgeries on his leg this year and he had to walk down from the 4th floor. I demanded to be moved to a first floor room since we had a non-refundable 2-night stay. The room we were given had 2 full beds instead of 2 queens like we reserved. The carpet was very dirty and all 3 adults in our party skipped showers even after a day in 90 degree heat because the bathroom was dirty. Overall the room was dingy and unappealing. There is a sign in front of the hotel that the property is up for sheriff's auction on July 17, 2017.

Last Chance Arrived Sunday night and asked for a good room. The clerk said she gave me a great room. There was one hole in the wall and the ceiling was falling apart, and the stool would barely flush anything down it. Employees kept standing at the back entrance door smoking as guest were trying to get in. The only thing good here was the free breakfast. reading the Sunday paper I found out that the place was being auctioned off on July the 10th. Don't waste your time here.
