Elegant finishes, under the flight path, nasty water, friendly staff, deep swimming pool The public spaces are elegantly finished and there is a lovely cobblestone patio with a large fountain reminiscent of a piazza. Under the flightpath of John Wayne airport with an average of 12 departing flights an hour (one every 5 minutes) you can be sure your conversation will be interrupted. (Inside the room the noise is really not very discernable.) The food is fine, it gets the job done. Other than the front desk the staff is very friendly and attentive. The rooms are a decent size, furniture is above average and there is a wet bar with refrigerator. The bathroom finishes are average but below expectation for the rest of the hotel. (A decent shower head and hair dryer made in the last decade would be a simple upgrade.) But the water here has a nasty odor of sulphur! I could smell it in the bedroom while my wife was taking a shower. It reminded me of cabins at camp! Don't attempt to drink it. There is a (one) purified water dispenser in the lobby so bring your canteen. Or you can buy a $4.00 litre in your room. The shower temperature was totally random--I could not get a consistent temperature during my 5 day stay. The saving grace was the reasonable rate, for Newport Beach, and 8' deep swimming pool.

Hotel with outstanding freindly service This hotel has the most freindliest staff I have ever encountered - from the shuttle driver at the airport to the hotel, the receptionist and the restaurant team, everyone went above and beyond to make my stay very memorable. My flight arrived early and so I asked if I could get a room earlier than the 3:00pm standard time. They searched and searched until they found me a room. The room is super spacious with living room + bedroom. Food at their restaurant was superb as well. The only thing I would change is the fact that the furniture in the room was a bit outdated, but not an issue. They also have a free shuttle to and from the hotel to restaurants and shopping withina 3 mile radius, check out Lab anti-mall place that is nearby. I will definitely stay there again and again in the future. Amazing service!

European Feel We Loved our stay! We had a great room, service was amazing, comfy pillows and mattress and the Bistro and court yard - absolutely darling. There were no bad choices at the restaurant but if I had to recommend- that Monte Cristo is heaven! We ordered it multiple times. Would recommend this sweet hotel and restaurant over and over.

Lovely and Affordable A beautiful property complete with restaurant, pool, gym. Beautifully decorated, immaculate, outstanding service all at an extremely reasonable rate. Main building is rooms additional building is all suites. Large, extremely well equipped with patio. I would highly recommend this property
