Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cincinnati Riverfront by IHG

Holiday Inn Express messed up our booking and make us fork out the money to pay for it! Made a reservation (2 queen bed suite), and than needed to change it. They cancelled first one and rebooked but didn't book the same type of room (only 2 queen beds). So when we arrived there wasn't enough beds for all of us. The front desk lady was pleasant but apparently couldn't do anything for us, So i spent the evening on the phone with Holiday Inn Express trying to get another room big enough for us. We were there 2 nights, they gave us a second room free for one night but made us pay for a second room on the second night. Not impressed!!! This was their fault and made us fork on the money to cover it. The pool was cloudy and the bottom was slimy (we let them know but on the second morning it looked the exact same). The room felt moist, so it wasn't surprising when I saw the shower ceiling falling apart with black spots on it. I will say the breakfast was decent; they had a good variety and lots of hot food. Overall, I won't be booking here again!

This place is a nightmare If you are looking for a clean room and want to sleep this place is not for you. The room was gross I had to whipe up spilled stained pop with bleach wipes immediately entering the room. The lamps are plugged in with extension cords which I'm sure is not code. There is no cold water to get a glass to drink in the room, I was told it's due to the weather. This is Kentucky not Arizona and it was 60s and rain. This hotel is under renovations and that was not disclosed, if it was I would not have booked there. We received a letter that the water will be shut off from 11-4 on one of the days for repairs, when I said something to the manager she acted like I was in the wrong and this is totally normal. The bathrooms to the pool are closed, we were there a total of 5 mins when a child told their parent they had to use the bathroom and the mom said I'm not going all the way back to the room hold it or go in the pool. Needless to say i pulled my kids out and we did not use the pool for the rest of the time. I did alert the front test and the kid there said we can't control that. At 7 am one day the housekeeping staff got into an argument infront of our room regarding a piece of paper, when one of them thought it was a good idea to let off their distress alarms and keep it going waking the kids up. I immediately went to the front desk and the managers responded yes that's for their safety acting like it's no big deal. They do have free breakfast and it comes with complimentary attitude from the lady handling it. Not only does she have an attitude she clipped the banana tops off and left them all over the counter with the scissors. This place is beyond a nightmare.

Great location and nice clean hotel. Nice clean hotel. Initially immediate area looked a bit sketchy, but turned out to be a great location. Super easy to get on/off highway to go to Cincinnati or further south into Kentucky. Room small but clean. Breakfast amazing. Best hotel breakfast I’ve had and breakfast staff was working hard making sure everything was kept stocked. Pool nice although could use a good cleaning with some built up scum on walls. They are remodeling and only negative comment I have is they should wait until after breakfast to do things like sanding on the first floor near the breakfast area. Afternoon and evening front desk women very nice and friendly.

No sleeping on weekends This facility is a party place on weekend nights! There were 20 people drinking, smoking, singing, yelling, etc. outside our window on the third floor. The partying went on past 4:00 am. Staff were unable to quiet things down, even with the help of local police! What a frustrating night! We paid to be kept awake and have our day spoiled! Please be fore warned, if you go to this hotel to sleep, you will be sorely disappointed. This location has a lot to offer, but not being able to sleep and having no recourse, is a deal breaker, unfortunately.

A suite & fireworks! We were upgraded to a suite which was very nice! Bed was a little hard for my liking, but not as hard as some I have had. We got to watch fireworks from the Reds game from our window. Staff was very nice & helpful. Breakfast was good & well stocked. Good stay!
