Great option to stay in Cozumel Hotel Playa Azul in Cozumel offers an exceptional experience defined by warm hospitality. The staff is friendly and attentive. From the interactions at the restaurant to the room's cleanliness, you can tell the staff takes pride in making you feel at home. Thank you Monserrat, Guadalupe, Nubia, Francisco, Marina, and Ivan for creating a great experience for us. The hotel is clean and nice with a cozy beachfront, creating a relaxing atmosphere only a cab ride away from downtown Cozumel. The hotel building and facilities are a little bit older, and it sometimes shows even though they command a slightly high price point for the amenities they offer (this is why I am giving it a 4-point rating). However, the hotel staff makes up for it with their wonderful level of service.

Wonderful little spot north of San Miguel With the exception of grouchy Darwin at the beach bar, every one of the staff here is professional and friendly and helpful. Fantastic room with a view, lovely balcony, excellent food. Shrimp-stuffed a avocado at the beach bar was perfectly prepared and delicious!

Waiting for a response from hotel I’ve emailed four times with no response. I need someone to contact me about a partial refund request from a recent stay. The hvac was broken and the floor had continuous condensation that I had to put towels down for safety. My room wasn’t cleaned, there were no beach towels, the breakfast cereal was past the expiration date, there was no hot water and after a request to refund 2 nights out of my 6 night stay I’ve received no support or response. I still committed to staying 4 nights and there was no support from the hotel to work together on a solution. I don’t know what else to do to receive a response from someone.

FRONT DESK MADE US PAY $45.00 PER DAY IN CASH. TOTAL RIP OFF NO WHERE TO REPORT! We ended up staying at Playa Azul in a suite with separate living room and two queens ocean front suite with a prepaid reservation. The day after check in we were told we were being charged an extra $15.00 per day extra for our son and it had to be paid in CASH before departure. Of course they refused to charge our credit card despite being allowed to pay for incidentals. Upon departure they demanded $45.00 per day. I used to know the owners years ago and can't seem to find the information to contact them They use intimidation to Americans. and said they would call the police I would have let them but we had a two hour trip baCK TO CANCUN!

nope unfortunately more bad than good. secluded with nothing within walking distance. short cab ride to town. hot water hit or miss. one evening completely shut down. woke up on day six with my room filled with flies. came back later to find dead flies everywhere. had to ask to have them cleaned up. came back after dinner and the door to my room was wide open. breakfast was adequate and staff in some areas more attentive than others. pool not heated. i get that its “mexico” but flies, no hot water, a cold pool, the carelessness and apathy of the staff is good enough reason for a no on this hotel.
