Best experience from a negative situation We got stuck in Dallas when our Las Vegas trip got canceled. We had the most amazing customer service. The front desk Took extra good care of us with even Candace going out of her way. The bartender Deidre was sure To make a positive out of a negative. Everyone here as well as the facilities was top notch. I can’t say enough amazing things.

Go somewhere else!! First of all, this is a nice place. It’s very cute - an urban chic, revitalized downtown industrial building; nevertheless We would never stay here again. Finding ourselves in Dallas during Southwest airlines‘ shutdown in June, we spent our first night in an absolute dive solely because it was close to the airport. After a miserable night there, we promised ourselves that our second night would be at a more comfortable hotel. After checking reviews, we decided that Aloft would be the perfect place. Upon check-in, however, we were sent to a room that had not yet been cleaned. Returning back to the front desk, we reported this to the concierge expecting that he would send us to a different room. Surprisingly, he told us we would have to wait for that room to be cleaned. While we were unhappy about that answer, we sat down in the lobby and waited; an hour later, we were still waiting. When we returned to the concierge desk to inquire about their progress, we expected, at the veery least, an apology for our wasted time; we received none. Instead we were given an excuse and told that we would have to continue waiting! It was only after an hour and 45 minutes that we were finally allowed to drop our things in our room. Again it was a nice room; we had a comfortable night and greatly appreciated the amenities. The next morning when it was time to check out, we returnEd to the concierge’s counter, took care of the paperwork, and headed back to the airport. Three days later, though, we discovered that we had been charged twice for the room! Charged twice for a room that we had waited on for nearly 2 hours!! We had pre-paid for this room through Expedia before we ever checked in, and without realizing this, our son who handled the checkout procedures was asked to pay again, a request to which he acquiesced. Back at home, upon realizing this mistake, he contacted the hotel to clear up the error, and, once again there wasn’t even an apology! It’s difficult to think of this property as being owned by Marriott as customer service is just not up to Marriott reputation. I would not recommend anyone stay here.

Are we being Punk'd? Wow. Where to begin. We had booked our room over a week prior to our arrival and called the day of, to let them know we would be arriving between 1130 and 1230 am. We drove 5 hours from Amarillo to Dallas and arrived just after midnight. There was a security vehicle parked in the entrance drive making it difficult to pull up and unload. We were bringing several vintage guitars and amps for the Dallas Guitar show the next day and had 2 large carts to haul up to our room. When we entered the lobby it reeked of marijuana smoke. There was a man being escorted out of the building by a security officer for having passed out in the lobby. When I approached the desk the gentleman working immediately asked that I "bear with him", as he was "doing the best he could". I found that an odd greeting. We were given keys to the room after checking in and my husband took our first cart load up the elevator to the 8th floor. In the meantime I went to move the car, as between it and the security guards car, the entrance was blocked. I noticed while the security guard hung out at the front door, there were several people milling around back in the parking lot. It seemed very unsafe. My husband called and said the room was bolted from the inside. He called down to the desk and the clerk went up to investigate. Someone was evidently in the room but would not respond. He stated he would give us another room. After about 20 minutes and a second trip upstairs to the 5th floor, my husband found the room obviously occupied, although thank goodness, no one was in the room. At this point he and I were furious. I came in from the car (against my better judgement) and told the clerk that the entire situation was unacceptable. I asked for his name and his managers name, which he refused to provide. He had no name badge. He began to get very upset and and kept blaming his manager. I had to ask him to calm down and stop being ugly to me. This was not our fault. He then went up himself to check a 3rd room. Came back and said it was 95% perfect. The toilet did not flush well. I said no sir. That would not work. He then called a maintenance man (I assume). To go and look at the toilet. The man came down wearing gold chains and sunglasses...and stated he had fixed it. I said no. Absolutely not. He then called his manager Nicole on speaker phone (I finally got someones name) who promptly cursed in response to his call. She said Oh ©-©! He had to tell her she was on speaker phone. He had mentioned to her that he could "walk" us to another sister property. I exclaimed YES do it. This entire fiasco was just too much. We were now over an hour in and had no room. After another 30 minutes we finally had a voucher to leave and go to another hotel. I then told the clerk I wanted a full refund for the room and parking. He told me I could come back tomorrow and discuss a refund with his manager. At this point I was dumbfounded. I told him to call her back. He put his phone in front of me and said YOU call her. I did. I was told it would take 3 days to receive the refund. I was so exhausted at this point I said fine and we left. The Lorenzo Hotel was the sister property and was a DREAM. From the staff, to the security, to the room. Best bad situation turn around ever. In my opinion the Aloft needs to clean house and hire a new manager and staff. It was a circus. I was so disappointed. Worst part was we had stayed at the Aloft in Sundance Square the weekend prior and it was EXCELLENT. Dallas - we will not be back. Hope you get it together.

Phenomenal People Working Here I stayed at the Aloft Dallas when I was moving across country from Georgia to California and driving a UHaul towing a trailer with my car on it. I've never towed anything before, and ended up getting stuck in the parking lot the next morning when I tried to leave. The staff really went above and beyond to help me. The GM and two employees (one's name was Ernesto, unfortunately I've forgotten the other gentleman's name) helped me get my car off the trailer, detach the trailer, move it, then reattach the trailer and put my car back on. They really didn't have to do that and I was so grateful for their help! They saved my entire trip. It went beyond customer service - there are just really good people working here. Beyond that, the style of the Aloft Dallas is super cool. The building is a converted commercial loft space so the rooms are HUGE with floor-to-ceiling windows. If you're looking to impress a client, I would 100% recommend this hotel for the aesthetic alone.
