Think Twice Pros: Hotel is convenient to downtown to the touristy things: JFK attractions, holocaust muesum, Geo Deck, and restaurants. However, it is a good walk, approximately a mile. There is a public train beside the hotel. We did not use it. The Free D Link bus is no longer in service! We walked opposite the attractions to eat breakfast and called an Uber to take us to Dealy Plaza. It cost less than the train. It was $11.00 for the Uber, and the train was $3 for one trip or $6 for all day. Plus we would have had to walk to the train. We stayed here because of the king and queen beds in one room. The hotel is nice, but not the nicest or fanciest hotel I have stayed in. The employees are nice. The hotel is clean. Cons: Here’s the reasons for my average score and why I may not recommend staying here and I would think twice before I stayed again. First, there was barely any toilet paper on the dispenser when we first walked into our room. There was not one extra roll! There were only 2 towels left in the room. So the first thing I had to do was go get more toilet paper and towels. I find it quicker to go get something rather than wait for someone to bring it to you. This was not the end of the world, but this is an upscale hotel and I certainly expected toilet paper and would think 4 towels would be provided in a room that size. I normally stay in budget hotels. We normally only sleep and take showers in a hotel. Paying big bucks to stay in a hotel is not my normal. I’d rather spend money on attractions and food rather than a fancy lobby and room. No matter how little I have paid for a room, I have always had toilet paper, extra toilet paper, and it’s at least a 50/50 chance of having 4 towels. This hotel was about double what I normally pay. So I was surprised, to say the least, to have basically little to no toilet paper. As with most hotels and motels now, they do not clean your room until you check out. Second, in the middle of the night, our toilet got clogged. It almost over flowed, but we were saved that horrible experience. The next person to get up called the front desk about 4:30 am. She was told maintenance would come up when they came in to work. The front desk employee asked us if we wanted to move to another room. We did not because most of us were sleeping or had just been woken up by the discussion of the stopped up toilet, and we were checking out in a few hours. Maintenance came about 7:00 am. By then water had leaked from the tub into the bedroom. The carpet beside the bed was soggy. He asked did we want to move. We only wanted the toilet unstopped so we could go to the bathroom. We were having to go to the lobby to use the bathroom. This was a major inconvenience! He did not unstop the toilet on the first visit. He returned in few minutes and unstopped the toilet. Only to return a few minutes later with keys to the room next door so we could take showers, which was not a problem. I did not want to pack all our stuff up, move to another room, to pack it up again in an hour or so later. So from about 4:30 am until checkout, we got very little rest. We found out from the first call that the toilet below us had clogged too. We found out from maintenance guy that same room was leaking water from the tub also. So for whatever reason, both rooms’ toilets were stopped up and the carpet was squishy. I don’t blame the hotel because that’s an unforeseen incident and it could happen anytime anyplace. But what came next is the reason I’m not sure if I could recommend anyone staying here. They only offered me points for my inconvenience. Don’t have a clue how many. Never said. Could not or would give me any amount of a refund because I had used a third party to book my reservations. They acted like they got no money and the third party kept all the money. They were supposed to call me. They have not. It’s been 2 days, and I haven’t heard a word. Not expecting too now. I had read other reviews with folks having similar problems and being given little to nothing for their inconvenience. Most of the time I don’t expect to encounter major inconveniences as this. Also, be aware, they charge your card $100 for incidental fees when you check in. I know some folks don’t budget for that and are caught off guard when that amount is taken, especially if the are using a debit card. I have found the more you pay for a hotel the less free amenities you receive. No pool. No free internet, except in public areas. Recommendations: Use the parking deck if you are not going to move your car. There is no in and out, so you must pay every time you leave. After 4 hours, it’s $18. Valet parking was very busy, cost $30 a day. However, you can come in and out. You probably would save money if you are going to move your car any at all. Walk, if you are use to it. Very nice to see the different architecture of the buildings. Felt safe everywhere we walked. Encountered homeless people. They did not bother us or ask for money.

Birthday Weekend! Great CUSTOMER SERVICE! My husband and I stayed for my birthday weekend. This is one of our favorite hotels in Dallas. When we checked in, we were able to to get a FREE UPGRADE to a suite! I was so grateful and told the Operations Manager, Jenica, that we were there for my birthday. After settling in, we went out for dinner and when we returned, there were chocolate covered strawberries and a bag full of yummy snacks waiting for us! The staff made sure we have an enjoyable stay! Highly recommend! Thanks again Jenica!

A great stay and a great time at the Marriott I had a 3 week stay at this hotel. I was in the middle of a relocation, where everything that could go wrong did go wrong. But the staff at this Marriott was spectacular. They provided an experience that made me feel like a V.I.P. Led by their very friendly General Manager Juan Calderon and his assistant manager Jennica Gonzales. At the bar Philippe and Nyjha is quite a tandem, with their custom mix drinks and their sense of humor. I just wanted to take the time and say thank-you.
