Canvas Hotel I hope this message finds you well. I’m reaching out to express some discomfort I’ve experienced in the workplace involving a fellow member of management. On more than one occasion, I’ve felt uncomfortable due to their behavior, which has included physical contact — specifically, poking me in a way that felt inappropriate and unwelcome. While I understand that different people have different communication styles, I believe it’s important for all of us to maintain a respectful and professional environment. I wanted to bring this to your attention because I value a safe and supportive workplace for everyone. Thank you for taking the time to hear my concern. I’m happy to discuss this further if needed.

Thank you Erika!! Erika the bartender was the amazing! So helpful and pleasant. Food was delish. Loved our experience here. We were staying at the Canvas hotel for two nights for work. She was our bartender at night and then was there to open the restaurant first thing in the morning! So grateful! Really enjoyed our time!

Awesome Erika was very attentive to my needs and went above and beyond to make my experience great at the bar. Will definitely come again just for her! The drinks she made were superb and her kindness was something very refreshing in these times of fast paced food service.

Time At Canvas I had a great experience at Canvas Hotel, especially thanks to the exceptional service from the bar staff. Timothy Bedford is an amazing bartender—welcoming, professional, and creates such a peaceful and enjoyable environment. His presence truly elevated my visit. However, I was a bit taken aback by the behavior of Jeffery Harris. He spoke to Timothy in a harsh and condescending manner in front of both staff and guests, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. No one should be addressed in that way, especially in a professional setting. I hope moving forward, management is more mindful of how staff communication is handled in public spaces. Respect and professionalism should be consistent across the board.

Pass The Canvas Hotel Dallas was my first booking for Easter weekend, and unfortunately, it set a disappointing tone for the trip. After a long 6-hour drive, I arrived, unloaded my car onto a trolley, and hauled everything up to my room myself. As I stepped off the elevator, I noticed how hot and humid the hallway felt — but I assumed the room would be comfortable. Sadly, that wasn’t the case. When I opened the door, I was met with stifling heat — at least 85 degrees and extremely humid — making it hard to breathe. To make matters worse, the windows appeared to be nailed shut. I immediately called the front desk, only to be told, in an oddly casual tone, that the air conditioning was broken, as if this had been a detail I had agreed to upon booking. No alternative room was offered, no timeline for a fix was provided — just a “take it or leave it” attitude. So, I lugged my belongings back down to the lobby (where the AC was working) and scrambled to book another hotel on short notice. It was upsetting, especially not knowing if I’d even find another place available on a busy holiday weekend. The one bright spot? The bartender, Timothy (if I caught his name correctly), was an absolute gem — warm, kind, and doing his best to lift our spirits with ice-cold cocktails and genuine hospitality. I really appreciated that. A front desk staff member did come to the bar to apologize just before we left, which I also appreciated, but the entire situation could have been avoided with better communication and a basic level of customer care. At the end of the day, the experience cost us 3–4 hours and caused us to miss important family plans — which stung even more given the price point. What’s surprising is that while The Canvas and The Fairmont Dallas are two very different classes of hotel, the room prices were very similar — and the Fairmont, in fact, was slightly less expensive per night (before factoring in the mandatory valet). The Fairmont treated us like royalty, while at Canvas I felt like an afterthought. If all you want is great aesthetics and you don’t mind indifference from the staff, the Canvas will suit you fine — it’s undeniably stylish. But if you care about comfort, service, and feeling welcomed, I would recommend looking elsewhere. For me, I’ve found my go-to in Dallas — and it’s The Fairmont, hands down.
