HORRIBLE DO NOT STAY HERE We booked a suite for our wedding weekend DoubleTree Hilton Suites in Dana Point through Lauren Desangle, expecting a special and memorable stay. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but. Two weeks before our stay, Lauren emailed that there would be construction in the parking lot. However, when we arrived, we found the entire hotel, both inside and out, under renovation. This misleading information set the tone for our stay. Upon check-in, only one person worked at the front desk despite three weddings booked at the hotel. When we finally got to our room, we set the AC to cool down as we prepared for our rehearsal dinner. After an hour, the temperature in the room rose from 76 to 78 degrees, indicating the AC was broken. We informed the front desk before leaving for the dinner, and they assured us a mechanic would fix it. We returned from our rehearsal dinner at 9:30 PM, hoping to get to bed early for our wedding the next day. The mechanic stopped us in the lobby to insist the AC was working. However, when we got back to our room, it was still at 76 degrees despite being set to 68. We called down, and the mechanic came up with a temperature gun, claiming the AC worked even though the room temperature increased by a degree while he was there. Frustrated and exhausted, we went back to the front desk, only to be told the hotel was fully booked and we could just open the window. When I went to open the bathroom window, I found dead spiders and four live spiders everywhere, clearly showing the room had not been cleaned. Our neighbors were smoking cigarettes on their balcony, and since our room was right on PCH, sleeping with the window open was not an option. Finally, at midnight, they found a room with two double beds for me and my now-husband to sleep in. We had to be up at 6 AM the next day to get ready, so I was already so angry with no sleep, but we finally went to bed around 1 AM. The next morning, the chaos continued. We had booked a room for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in and a room for my husband and his groomsmen. Lauren Desangles, the salesperson, was supposed to be there at 7 AM but didn't show up until 8 AM. When she did, I told her about the night, she gave an apology and left. Her assistant later came and tried to make amends by bringing pomegranate juice, claiming it was an upgrade to our champagne. As we were getting ready, we realized the AC in this room wasn't working either. When we asked for fans, we were told there was only one available, and we had to deal with the heat. Adding to the frustration, the bathroom on our floor was broken, and we were told to use the bathrooms on the first or third floor. I didn't want to run into guests or my husband so I asked for a better solution. Lauren's assistant found us another room to use for the bathroom, and she said we could use it for the entire weekend, which was a pleasant surprise. This made us happy to have a place to store our things. However, an hour and a half later, we discovered that bathroom didn't work either. When my maid of honor informed Lauren about this, she was rude and dismissive again, saying she just found out and fixed it, even though my MOH had told her an hour earlier. We were then given yet another room to use for the bathroom. However, not even 20 minutes later, staff started moving our things out, saying they needed the room for another guest to check in. This was despite being told we could use the room for the entire weekend. Finally, as a resolution, Lauren allowed my sister to check into her room early and use that room. While we were getting ready, the food we ordered was fine, but staff wasn't paying attention, and random hotel guests kept taking it. For lunch, the wait staff tried to take the food away early because their shift was over. My mom insisted they move it into the room, but they still managed to take our food. When we returned to our room after the wedding, we found the bathroom floor covered in large puddles from a leaking ceiling. The room had not been cleaned, with spiders still everywhere. We tried to call down at midnight, but no one was at the front desk due to severe understaffing. The next night the leak still wasn't fixed. At checkout, we spoke with Lauren, who promised everything would be refunded except for the food. Even though food was taken away early, we didn't want to be unreasonable, so we agreed to pay for it. Lauren assured us on July 20th that we would be refunded. As of August 2nd, we've only received a $20 refund for parking. We reached out to Lauren twice to rectify the situation. She finally responded to our email, saying she saw it but forgot and got too busy to respond. Overall, our experience was horrendous. The deceptive information, poor conditions, unprofessional staff, and unresolved issues ruined what should have been a joyful occasion. DO NOT STAY HERE

False promises from the front desk Went to Dana Point to spread my mother's ashes at sea and booked this hotel based on proximity to the harbor where the ship sailed from. I had recent good experience with Hilton hotels undergoing renovation so I picked this one and upgraded to a renovated room with ocean view. While the room was nice, it turned out that the air conditioning would stop working after a while and the room would heat up to 80 degrees. It was a horrible night's rest. The lady at the front desk was sympathetic as I checked out and she said she would comp the parking charge for our inconvenience. I was disappointed to see the parking charge was not reversed and upon reading more reviews I see that they routinely gouge people for parking. As a former Hilton Diamond member, I rate this as one of my 5 worst stays.

How is this place even still in business? People NEED to read the recent reviews. ### Trip Review: The Hotel from Hades Oh, where do I begin? This hotel experience was like taking a dive into a pool of inconvenience, rudeness, and filth – with a splash of hidden fees. Let's break it down, shall we? 1. Nickel and Dimed to Oblivion Imagine being charged for every breath you take – that’s what staying here feels like. Want to actually use the internet for something beyond checking emails? That’ll be an extra $5. Need a valet to park your car? Fork over $40. Prefer to park your own car? Well, guess what? That’s still $40 per night. Apparently, self-sufficiency is just as expensive as convenience here. 2. Need an Extra Blanket? Dream On Our children had the joy of sleeping on a pullout couch, which, surprise, didn’t come with any blankets or pillows. When we asked for some, we were told there were none available. The front desk staff, with their winning personalities, were as helpful as a screen door on a submarine – rude, dismissive, and utterly unhelpful. 3. Welcome to Dirt and Decay If you love the sight of dead bugs in your bathroom and construction dust everywhere, this is your paradise. Cleanliness is clearly not a priority here. It’s almost as if they’re competing for the “Dirtiest Hotel of the Year” award. 4. Shower? What Shower? I tried to turn on the shower, and the handle just came off in my hand. Perfect. Because who needs a shower when you can have the thrill of water not running? In summary, if you’re looking for a place to feel absolutely ripped off while wallowing in filth and dealing with the most charming staff imaginable, this hotel is the place for you. Avoid it like the plague.

DON'T STAY HERE! We're currently here, mid July and it is a nightmare! There are ants in the rooms, the parking area is under construction and a mess, restaurants are closed and it's disgusting! The hotel staff is supposed to clean rooms every day but they never come, even after going to the front desk to ask in person! This is a terrible place to stay!! Just avoid it!!
