Just incredible. Always Holiday Inn. I'm a truck driver. I've stayed at countless hotels in multi-states. I like to take Holiday Inn when ever available as it's always a guaranteed good experience. This specific Holiday Inn has won my #1 award. The staff is just absolutely amazing. You're treated truly genuinely like an appreciate person and friend here. Rooms are clean with zero odor. Just incredible stay.

Virgil Caine is the name and I served on the Danville Train... Actually, I was on a project for a few days, and I needed a place to stay. Someone recommended this place. Next time, I'll sleep in my car as opposed to asking that idiot for a suggestion. Anyway, for $200 per night (Monday night) plus taxes and fees, you'd expect something above average in the bustling metropolis of Danville. This place disappointed on all levels. It starts with the rude front desk personnel-I stood (proud and brave to again borrow some Band lyrics) at the desk for several minutes before being acknowledged. The lady was engrossed in a Tik Tok video or some such. Then I was assailed because my credit card didn't go through. It was an Expedia transaction, and the clerk eventually recognized it as such. But what really disappoints is the fact that you pay a premium price for these gross, poorly maintained rooms in these supposedly mid-level, business travel friendly chain hotels. You get taken to the cleaners on a regular basis. Some examples of the foundation of my distress; the bathroom door was so out of kilter that it slammed shut of its own volition. The bathroom fixtures were rusty and dirty. The carpet was frayed and dirty. The tile work should have been replaced a decade ago. There was a half inch gap between the entry door and the door jamb-I could see into the hallway without looking through the peep hole. The furniture was dinged and dented, etc etc, ad nauseum.

Overall Good Experience Staff at this hotel were all very nice and check-in was quick and easy. Breakfasts were good. Cinnamon rolls were good, and there was a nice selection. Our room was clean. The bathroom could use updating. Someone had apparently pulled on the shower curtain rod, and it looked like it could easily come off the wall. We would say this is an average hotel. We have family in the area, so we would probably try something different next time, but staying here would not be out of the question.

Pretty good all-around When traveling, we generally check for Holiday Inn Express in our destination cities. They are usually clean, decent, and have a good breakfast. This Holiday Inn Express in Danville, Illinois, is in the middle of the pack of Holiday Inn experiences. Not top of the line, not bottom-dwelling. Check-in was okay: a little slow and methodical. The breakfast was very good: scrambled eggs, cheese omelets, sausages and warm cinnamon rolls. My only complaint: Trip Advisor, and signs in the property say there is a hot tub/spa in the pool area. In reality: There is no hot tub. This was very disappointing to me after a long day on the road. To be fair, the hotel's web site doesn't mention hot tub, but it is mentioned as a plus in many Trip Advisor reviews. It's clear they took it out, and put lawn chairs in its place. I travel this way a lot and probably won't stay here again.
