Quality Inn Decatur near US-224

The smell!!! Have stayed here before and had good experiences. The roof was being redone, so the indoor pool was closed. Workers threw all the trash down on the sidewalk and we could not park right against the building. The trash did get picked up later. Room was clean, but smelled something awful. Still can't place the smell, we propped the door open for a couple of hours and ran the fan at top speed. Just really mad about the pool, only got a room for that reason, and was told pool was open when booking.

Horrible Experience This hotel has gone so down hill from the days when it was the Amerihost Inn. We have family in Indiana and have been staying at this hotel, since the late 90’s every time we visit but this is the last. My wife and I have five kids so we have to always get two rooms. On this visit we were put in a room that had a horrible smell to it, almost like a sewer smell. There were stains on the ceiling like from a water leak from room above. I went to the desk clerk and told him the issues. He says those are just stains and couldn’t smell anything. I ask for another room and he says hotel is full. So now I have to stay the night in the horrible smelling room and we are kind of stuck here, so I say never again. 2 rooms 2 nights and I’m out $600 for a horrible place to stay!!!! Check out the pictures! It use to be a much better place. At this point I want to give it -5

This should be a 2 1/2 star rating The hotel is old and worn and has no elevator and not much in the way of decor or ambience. But the room was reasonably clean and comfortable and big enough. Nice swimming pool though we did not use it. Limited breakfast selection. No maid service. Very basic. Get a 1st floor room unless you like to climb stairs but then be prepared for noises from the room above you.

Family from 5 different states stayed there for a funeral. The Quality Inn was decorated for Christmas, it was very clean, comfortable and since we received a bereavement discount, it was very reasonable. The breakfast was hot, fresh and plenty of it. After a long flight and driving, our room had plenty of bath supplies, hot drinks and the bed was comfortable. I would stay there again!

The Hotel Name Defined Essence of my Stay: Quality We live in our RV and needed to be in alternative lodging for a week while it was in for repair. The Decatur, Indiana Quality Inn was one of a few recommendations made by the repair facility. I stopped in at the Quality Inn (intending to visit the others as well) to check on availability and was so impressed with the helpfulness of the staff that I decided to look no further and arranged for our stay. We did not know how short or long our stay would be as we were at the mercy of the repair facility. Our entire experience was positive from my first impression to check-out and therefore warrants a good review. In short, there were no mistakes, problems, or even minor inconveniences during our stay, so this review is deservedly 5-stars. There were NO low points. HIGH POINTS: Front desk staff was friendly and professional. They expressed genuine interest in my situation and accommodated my needs (timing, low floor, pets). Housekeeping was beyond exceptional. All our room needs were met, and housekeepers inquired whether we needed anything anytime we passed them in the halls. This actually happened multiple times from multiple staff members throughout our stay! The breakfast area was always orderly, clean and was kept stocked during the 3+ hour serving period. That period is supposed to start at 6 AM but the breakfast area was fully ready to serve occupants an hour earlier every day. Amenities include a sitting area near the entry, internet access, very nice pool, exercise facility, meeting/conference room, and ample parking that could accommodate a big rig or two. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms have 32” cable TVs, a desk with good lighting, and plenty power receptacles as well as USB charging ports. The entire staff, without exception and in every respect, far exceeded our expectations. I traveled a lot during my military and employment careers and can honestly state that this week has been my most pleasant lodging stay EVER. Opportunities to Improve: Add a good quality scale to the exercise room. Personal Opinion: I know sometimes situations occur that dissatisfy some people. I will say this about that: The staff at this Quality in will go out of their way to make sure your stay is much more than just satisfactory if you simply give them the opportunity. I recommend this Quality Inn. Because of my experience here, I will be more inclined to look for a Quality Inn any time I have a need for temporary lodging.
