Texans - Deep in the heart of Delray A+ 5-star stay If you're looking for a truly authentic stay on Delray's sizzling Atlantic Ave, look no further than this quaint little boutique hotel, built in the roaring 20's. It's vintage art-deco architecture will transport you back into Florida's rich history. Located in the center of the city's Downtown District, you won't find a better-situated hotel for entertainment & restaurants. Delray has it all - from the beautiful beaches & intracoastal waterway, to all the great shops, galleries, and attractions, everything is within walking distance from The Colony. The brightly colored rooms are appointed with original wood floors, tile bathrooms, and antique, yet stylish & comfortable furniture (great beds!). The staff was fantastic, and were always available to make our stay more comfortable. The hotel was clean and just charming! Being major "foodies" from Texas, we were in our glory here. We rented a small fridge from them for the week because we knew we were going to have some major leftovers from our culinary adventures on Atlantic Ave. They also provided a roll-away bed for our grandson. We enjoyed a few delicious cocktails, some cool breezes, & a variety of soothing musical entertainment on the weekend evenings, on their front porch. If you're into "people watching", THIS IS DEFINITELY THE SPOT FOR YOU. Many quaint little sitting areas and a bar in the lobby to hang-out with your crew, and unwind. When you're there, make sure you use the historic elevator at least once. As a hotel guest here, you also have exclusive (complimentary) access to one of the best beaches in Florida. Take their free shuttle from the hotel at scheduled times throughout the day, or drive yourself over (free parking, secure lot). I believe they are open from 10-2pm. The Cabana Club features a pristine, Olympic-sized swimming pool, private restrooms & showers, multiple shaded pavilions & sitting areas to relax & grab a drink or bite to eat from their on-site restaurant (table service). Choose from a variety of unique dishes, prepared by one of their award-winning chefs. Our lunch (12 guests) was served on-time, was reasonably-priced and was truly delicious. The white sand beach and beautiful blue ocean are just gorgeous there. Their private beach area features complimentary chairs, lounges, and cabanas, all set-up each morning, awaiting your arrival. Their courteous staff are always accessible to provide fresh towels, etc. Their short walkway out to the ocean is a great place to take some family photos too! The Cabana Club alone makes The Colony Hotel stand-out among many other hotel choices in the area. This was the probably the best amenity we enjoyed during our 1 week stay. So if you're looking for something a little different on your next east coast Florida trip, you have GOT to try The Colony in Delray. (and if you're planning on hitting Tramonti's, make sure you call ahead for a reservation!) Buon Appetito !! 5-stars...al the way! Good job guys!

Best kept secret of Delray Beach Always reliable, friendly staff, the maids are sooo helpful, its a total throw back to times gone by in Old Florida or Havana. It's the best location to stay on Atlantic Ave, and drink, and shop and dine, drink some more, and never need a car. Shuttle over for free, to a gorgeous beach club, the pool area has lots of rules, but makes it that old time upscale feel, the beach is the best, with sand dunes, soft sand etc. They don't serve wine so bring your own, The Hotel has free parking, no resort fee! There are many good reasons to stay here, its a different kind of experience but just as great!

When in Delray, this is our Place. We've have stayed here on three visits to Delray Beach. Great Old Florida feel with wonderful beach club. The facilities continue to be upgraded so the place is luxurious enough without being overdone. Complimentary modest breakfast, perfect location, competent and helpful staff, on sight parking, and free shuttles to the beach club if you choose not to drive.

Historic location in downtown Delray Beach This was once a grand hotel. The rooms, hallways, walls, and floors need fixing and updating. The bathroom toilet sounds like a jet taking off when flushed—small sink, lukewarm shower water, with no exhaust fan. The window air conditioner works fine and is very loud. The bed was very comfortable and clean. The room staff members were all amiable and helpful. The front desk staff was somewhat friendly.
