Less than I expected I had just stayed at recently opened Royal Sonesta in DC so I had high expectations. What a disappointment. The hotel is dingy and in need of a makeover. The fitness area is tiny. There is a desk to work from which is nice, and the bathroom is clean.

Good option in Downtown Denver We enjoyed our stay at the Sonesta Denver Downtown over the long 4th of July weekend (arrived on Wednesday and departed on Sunday). The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. It is fairly close to the convention center, so if you are heading to a convention, this would be a convenient, affordable option. We went to a Rockies game and that was about a 20 minute walk to get there - however we saw a lot of people on the scooters so that is an option. The parking was around $50 per day, but it seemed like that was pretty average for the area. There isn't valet parking though, which we normally would use, but it was easy to get in and out of the garage and the elevators went straight from the garage to your hotel floor (I've been in plenty of hotels where that is not the case). The elevators did seem to be on the slow side but it seemed like they were all working. We checked out on Sunday morning around 9:00 and we did have to wait about 7-10 minutes for an elevator that wasn't already full - we were on the 10th floor and two elevators stopped that were completely full before we were able to get on one. We enjoyed ourselves at the pool on Thursday afternoon, but when we tried again on Saturday afternoon (around 3pm), there were no chairs available and there was a DJ taking up premium space when this is a fairly small pool area to begin with. It also appeared as if the pool area was used for the Saturday brunch, so my guess is that it was off limits for swimming all of Saturday morning. There is a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room but no microwave. The housekeeping staff was able to provide additional coffee pods whenever we saw them in the hallway. We were told that housekeeping was by request only, so I was a bit surprised when I came back to the room on Saturday afternoon and they had been there and made the bed, took out the trash, etc. Overall, I think this is a good option for the downtown Denver area and would recommend it.

Great Location Great hotel for what I needed it for. Round the corner from my office, so really easy to walk and get into work everyday. Just off 16th St Mall and Denver Pavillions, so again, really easy to go shopping and navigate the city. King size bed, great air conditioning and blackout curtains so perfect for sleeping. Would happily stay here again

Average Very average, unkempt. I would not choose this place again to stay, no wonder why it’s cheap. Clearly there’s a lack of maintenance in the hotel. There are so many good hotels in the Denver downtown area you can choose. Don’t know where the good reviews are coming from.

Average Hotel, Terrible wifi General experience was acceptable, but it is 2024 and the wifi was almost completely unusable due to speed. Everything else is okay, but cannot recommend staying here if you have any interest in wanting to use the internet (aka most people). Too slow to function.
