Sonesta Essential Des Moines

Disappointed One of our rooms was disgustingly dirty, it was obviously not cleaned before we arrived. There were dead bugs everywhere, spots on the beds, and a dirty toilet. We were in town for a graduation and already spent a lot of money for the rooms. It was too late to find another hotel to go to. You only have one chance to make a first impression, and if two of the two rooms have dead bugs everywhere, I don’t think going to another room will justify the lack of care and attention the staff gave to the rooms. I also find a lack of professionalism when the housekeeper has one child laying on the floor in the hallway and another child appearing to be “helping” do whatever they were doing in the rooms. Finally the outside of the hotel was very dirty, trash was over flowing and there were cigarette butts, and food wrappers everywhere. These events ruined what should’ve been a longer stay and a more comfortable stay. I normally don’t like to leave negative reviews, when they refused to own up to their lack of professionalism and disgusting conditions I am left with no choice. I have provided pictures of the dead bugs in multiple places in the room, and for the sake of decency I did not take pictures of the contents of the toilet and the gross condition it was in.

Okay for overnight stay The room was clean and fairly recently remodeled. The pictures and hotel description need updating. There are no tables in the breakfast area. There is no breakfast, although the description says there is. Just juice and coffee. That is fine for the price, however, what is now posted is inaccurate.

Not a good motel for a decent or quite sleeping evening. very crowded with loud people Not a good place to stay at least in summer - very noisy due to large amount of young people staying there, they work at local amusement park. roaming the halls and loud until 2:00 AM. Was not able to get a good night's sleep and that is what I want (sleep ! ) for a motel. Staff not very friendly, zero breakfast. I will note the bed was fine and housekeeping did a good job, very clear and well kept room. I would advise anyone who wants a good place to avoid this one.

Best Extended Stay motel This is the best extended stay I have used. It is not new but it has several bebefits. First, it has real he tv. The tv is large and the picture is real hd, not the usual he tv but not an he signal. The internet speed is adequate, I could stream on my computer. Restaurants are within walking distance, including Mcdonalds, taco bell, Bennagins, and Perkins (which has an excellent Senior menu). The staff is friendly. Much better than the AirBB I used. Excellent stay.

Nice Hotel Nice hotel. Reasonable rate. Friendly check-in person. Good location. Near several restaurants. The staff at this hotel is amazing. They went above and beyond to accommodate our group. I recently stayed at a 4 star hotel that did not have near the quality of service that this hotel does.
