Great rooms, lovely breakfast space, close to museums This Inn is a collection of houses grouped together on Ferry Street, just a short walk from two major museums. Since these are renovated houses, there are no elevators and getting up a third floor room with your suitcase can a piece of fun, I recommend this only for people with a small overnight bag. That said, the place is wonderful. Beautifully appointed, lovely bathroom fixtures, lovely breakfast space in the main house, and the location can't be beat. I would definitely stay here again.

Nice cosy historical hotel Worth to stay in. Very good braekfast, very good service especially drivers in charge of the shutle service. With some personal words they tell you valuable information about Detroit and the development during the last years.

A wonderful stay I stayed at the Inn on Ferry Street for seven days and enjoyed it very much. The employees were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and the room and the public areas were spacious and comfortable. There was just one little problem: the shower stall in my room was tiny. That was unusual. Most of the rooms have a bathtub with a shower. I had requested a room with a large desk and a bright reading lamp. I enjoyed reading at the desk on those evenings when there were no concerts. The museums and the concert halls are within easy walking distance and there are restaurants nearby, too. The neighborhood is safe.

Historic Charm We booked this Inn not knowing it was part of the Historic Hotel organization. What charm and beauty are here along with a staff that made you feel like one of the family. It is a block away from the Detroit Art Institute - that was the reason we chose The Inn on Ferry Street. If you love beautiful art, architecture and design couple with an outstanding breakfest fair and comfortable rooms this is the place to stay in Detroit!.

Unique but needs a refresh These are beautiful homes but don't book the third floor in the Owen House if you want to take a shower. Beautiful new bathroom with ZERO water pressure and fluctuating hot water. No place to set anything. The suite has old windows, mismatched furniture, an uncomfortable couch and it's a long climb up. This property was renovated almost 20 years ago and it shows. The mismatched furniture and decor needs replacing. It was inexplicable furnished with Stickley in these 1880s homes (?) and Mission style colors and prints, which were all the rage when the renovation was done. These homes could look so much better. Dining room chairs are uncomfortable and need replacing. In-room coffee is those cheap drip filter pods that are undrinkable. Only one bottle of water was provided on the first day, none after. The owner needs to update and provide amenities in line with the prices they are charging.
