Roberts Riverwalk Urban Resort Hotel

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD. THEY MADE ME CANCEL MY RESERVATION DURING MY TIME OF CHECK IN, TOLD ME I HAD TO CANCEL THE RESERVATION THROUGH A THIRD PARTY COMPANY, AND I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM ANYONE SINCE. The “third party company” informed me that they would not be able to refund me until the confirmed my cancellation with the hotel, yet now no one can get in contact with them. I asked for a week to be contacted by the manager/ owner or whoever this lady is and I’m continually told she’s on vacation and not available. Needless to say, that $600 refund is out the window. YOU LOW DOWN SCUMS!!!!!!!! Negative stars should be an option!!

Hotel doubled charged me, then up-charged me for an riverview room that I had already paid for on Booking.com. I booked an room at this hotel so that I could see a view of Canada through Booking.com, so the room i chose was an river view with an sofa, but what I got when I arrived at 4:00 pm was an view of a parking lot. This room cost me $207.00. I immediately went back to the front desk to inform the employee of the mistake that was made. The male employee told me that I received the room that I was charged for. The regular room starts at $139.00, so why was i paying $169.00.....I informed him that I booked my room on Booking.com, and it was for a river view. He said that the hotel had nothing to do withmy reservations on Booking.com, I said yes it does, or you guy's should not be advertising on that site. He told me that did not have anymore riverview rooms. I asked the gentleman to call a supervisor, he did, and with a lot of back and forth they just happened to have an room with the view, but i had to pay an additional $36.00. I paid the money because I was certain that they would not have given me a refund if I chose to leave. Today, I checked my bank account, I was charge twice for the room, first on Booking.com, and by the hotel, which was additional $207.00, plus the $36.00, for an grand total of $449.00. This is unreal, because I can not reach the hotel by the two phone numbers that is on Google. I wanted to patronize this black-owned hotel although the reviews I had already read was poor, I still wanted my money to go with this establishment. I was hoping that my experience would be satisfactory, but it was not. The hotel could not provide ice because of the virus, what does ice have to do with the virus?? There are no cups in the room at all. Had to leave the hotel for ice and cups. You can not check into the hotel until exactly 4:00 pm, not an minute before. If you can not check in until 4, you should therefore check out at 12:00 noon, instead of their checkout time of 11:00am. They slide a sheet of paper through the night to inform you that if you stay in the room past 11:00, it will be an $50.00, fee no exceptions. I will never return to this once beautiful hotel, it is nothing like it once was. Please listen to other reviews regarding all of the negatives, I just wishedi didn't have the mentality of it can't be that bad. I will be making an trip to get my overcharged monies refunded.

It’s comparable to jail! I have never experienced something so insane as staying in this prison, oops I mean hotel. We along with another couple each booked a room here and we were advised we are not allowed to go to each other’s room to visit! I thought the man was joking! What type of policy is that?? They said only two guests per room at any given time. Umm we have our own room we are not sharing their room I said, and they still said no. Young man at the desk even called his boss who said no exceptions. Another couple was just meeting us here and they were not even allowed in the lobby. To get in and out a staff member has to escort you each time. The rooms are very very dated and do not come with anything other than a bed and some very old tables. There is no coffee pot, glasses for water etc .

The Bates Motel and Booking.com is useless Staff sucks, no housekeeping, parking lot like an ice skating rink, booking.com can’t even get them to talk to them. Useless. Front desk staff needs to be overhauled. Housekeeping did not clean the room.

Concert Pictures are so deceiving. We arrived early and were told rudely that check in was not til 4 pm. We came back by 3:15. Long line and only 2 people working the desk. The lighting in the room is awful. As well as the water pressure, pillow cases were too big for the pillows, broken suitcase holder, and very dusty. Our remote wasn't working well so my husband went to front desk only to be told that he wasn't working the remote correctly. My husband asked for a channel line up and clerk said they didn't have one.... only to be handed channel line up by another employee. Very very rude! Don't waste your time staying here. The area around hotel does not look safe. Very dark and streets surrounding the hotel are absolutely horrible.
