Stinky rooms The rooms are so stinky and the smell is mouldy. My 1,5 year old had to cough the whole time in the room because it was so bad.
We asked to change rooms and got another room which was as smelly. The staff told us that they get a lot of complains about that.
I am really concerned that there is mould every where behind the walls as we saw that they had paint lying around in the washing room which blocks mould. So that is crazy that the know about the issue and are just trying to hide it.
The staff is nice and the location by the river is nice, but I would never ever stay in this hotel again.

Great place and staff ever This place is awesome. We usually go twice a year for 4 or 5 nights. It is our go to place. We stop in Asheville, buy some books and sit on the deck, listen to the river and read. Slide into Sylvia for a late lunch or dinner. On our last visit Helene hit. Josh (GM) helped extend our stay two nights as we could not get out. No cell, no wifi, thank god had power on, but on Friday couldn't use water. Josh and his staff were incredible. Josh actually came in while his home was flooded. He was always upbeat and there to help any of his guests with any problems they encountered. I can never say enough for Josh, Amiya, and Aurora for they cheerfulness and continued support for those staying they. We were not the only ones stranded there. We meet some other great couples who we became friends with. The staff, Josh, front desk staff, and housekeeping made a tough situation enjoyable. It will be a trip to River Escape we will never forget.

Would not recommend Overcharged. Had funny smell in whole hotel. Too much air freshener. Breastfast hostess not helpful. Would not stay here again. Booked thu number on web site and was charged way too much. Carpet dirty because bottom of socks were dirty after walking inside of room.

Beautiful place to sit and relax. My wife and I enjoyed sitting on the balcony to our room looking at the river. We enjoyed breakfast on two mornings, very tasty. The menu included bacon, eggs, gravy biscuits, fresh fruit, pancakes, danish, and cereal. The next morning there was sausage instead of bacon.

Beautiful river and a great value Staff and facility were excellent. The river makes it very special. Breakfast was great and the room was very comfortable. This was a great value and convenient to our events. The surrounding area is breathtaking as well. We will look forward to our next visit.
