Recommend for Your Stay! We stayed here for our anniversary as it was dog friendly and a good jumping off point to access the North Shore. The location was a little bit misleading as I thought we were in Duluth, but it is actually Hermantown (my own fault for not doing more research). The hotel staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating when we checked-in. The entire stay was quiet and clean. Breakfast each morning was great and the hot tub was nice after a long day of hiking. The parking lot has a lot of spots so you always feel close to the main door, which we liked. Conveniently located near lots of food and shopping too. A great stay and we would not hesitate to recommend!

Still No Airport Shuttle And they still don’t have an airport shuttle though it is (was) listed on their website (see screenshot of website.). The Trip Advisor description also says there is a shuttle. When I asked the front desk clerk, she looked at me like I had three eyes. I said it was on their website - she replied “it wasn’t this morning.” Alas, they’ve finally taken it down. Had I known, I’d have stayed downtown. $20 minimum taxi ride plus trip for the 2 miles to the airport.

Satisfactory But Disappointing Our stay was disappointing compared to our past stays at this location. We come to Duluth at least 3 to 4 times a year although covid had us miss visits. We booked our stay here specifically to be able to access the water slide as a getaway with my 11year old nephew. During our 2 night stay the slide was only open once out of 6-7 potential swim times. The hotel overall is looking pretty run down and lots of the common spaces were dirty and/or worn. Our room although was upgraded and we very much appreciated the extra space of the one bedroom suite …was dirty…there was hair all over bathroom (not ours), the tub was grimy and almost no toilet paper on the roll and no new rolls to fill. The pull out couch had no bedding and when I went down to the front desk for some, I was told no pillow cases available and would be brought up later. No pillow cases came so we used them as is. The breakfast was pretty good as was the breakfast attendant who made sure things were filled and areas in food space was clean. I understand the apparent shortage of staff affected our disappointment with our stay and things happen but it does not change our dissatisfaction with our experience. The slide attendant on during the one time the slide was open was fabulous. He was friendly, funny and did a good job making sure people were being safe. The location was pretty good and close to shopping. Not a make or break it but does make an impact…the complementary cookies were only there once and the complementary teas were mostly empty other than during breakfast. There were a few times we tried to ask for help at the front desk and either no one was there or it was staff that was covering from other hotels so were unable to assist us properly. The staff we did have interaction with at the front seemed stretched thin and although perhaps wanted to help were really just unable to or too inexperienced to. The pool area was very run down and dirty. There was cake from previous day’s birthday party smushed into floor and tables. There was lots of hair and gunk on the pool deck. With so many other hotel choices in Duluth with similar amenities other than the waterslide, it is unlikely after our experience this time that we would stay here again.

Room wasn't cleaned in SIX night stay! Our room wasn't cleaned in SIX DAYS! We had to ask just to receive clean wash cloths and towels. We also asked them to clean the room, assuming that this was included in the price we paid. They kept saying they'd clean the next day but it never happened in our 6 night stay. The last day, I had to use a wet used towel for my shower. On the positive side, the staff was friendly, and the included breakfasts were nice.
