Nice, but not really worth the price I've stayed at this hotel twice over the last year. In my opinion, it is a little expensive. The rooms are okay: they look old in their decor and a bit outdated and faded. They have room service: the food is good, but a really small selection of dishes. I wouldn't bring kids to this hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, there is a parking garage and valet service. The beds are very comfortable. All in all, it seems like a hotel that labels itself as high-end but I would probably prefer to stay at a Best Western.

Business & History Visiting El Paso, whether for business or pleasure, the Camino Real _ Hotel is a great opportunity to be a part of El Paso history in the middle of "Downtown" where there is a Renaissance recognition of the value of the Architecture surrounding this beautiful old hotel. The rooms are spacious, decor is period, bathrooms are upgraded & modern and you have a comfortable feeling when you enter. An added plus for those driving, the underground parking is convenient w/ easy access to the rest of the property. The Camino Real is less than a blocks walk to 2 of El Paso's "Fine Dining" Restaurants and easy access to the main artery of El Paso extensive Freeway System. "Travel Safe my Friend" (Dos-XX)

Historical Beauty Hanging in There This once majestic hotel is showing its age but is still beautiful and worth a stay. The parking garage was easy to access. The elevators were old, wooden, and lined with mirrors. Note: avoid using the right one- it has a mind of its own going up and down missing your target floor..kind of scary in a fun way if accessing it at night.) The lobby is beautiful and the Dome Bar is classic with a historical stained-glass dome roof. The hotel allows you to walk around and check out the crown moldings and staircases. The room itself was spacious with big fluffy beds and a huge wooden closet. The view overlooked the Plaza. The bathroom was nice but it is dated. Unlike the old wood and brass downstairs, it showcased 80's color schemes and patterns and made us feel sad about the falling state of the hotel. The hotel itself is huge, and it needs some serious TLC from its new owners. We recommend everyone should stay here to enjoy its history. In addition, it is conveniently located downtown and there's a cafe located downstairs if you don't feel like driving.

Nice, iconic hotel Stayed here in the winter because it was downtown, iconic and beautiful. Room was fine and beautiful. However, one little problem. The room was really cold. Called the front desk and they told me to turn up the heater. Found out the heat was not the problem. There was a broken window and the cold air was coming in the room. Told the front desk the next morning and they just said, "we will fix it later." So much for iconic hotels.

Nice Hotel in Downtown El Paso The hotel is moderately priced and is located in the convenient downtown center. The grounds are well maintained and there is a bar located inside on the lobby floor. The hotel rooms look a bit dated but they were clean and quiet. Free Wifi is available. There is an outdoor pool in the upper area of the hotel as well as a nice fitness area. Very Handicap accessible. Being downtown there are many good restaurants and shops nearby all in walking distance. There is a parking garage with security. Overall I enjoy my stay.
