Incredible & Positive Staff Experience My wife and I recently visited El Paso for our first time and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn El Paso/University for 3-nights, and we can't say enough about the location, the amenities, and the STAFF. Ray at the front desk was so friendly, helpful, and professional. He provided incredible restaurant recommendations and insights into El Paso's rich history, and was enthused by our interest in his city. We spoke with Ray upwards of three times a day as we explored El Paso. Randy from the hotel's restaurant was also extremely helpful, professional and a delight to speak with. We ate breakfast at the hotel and in addition to being delicious, Randy's company made it worth our while. We chose the hotel because of it's proximity to Fort Bliss and the sites we wanted to see....and we're overwhelmed by everything both the hotel and the surrounding area had to offer. We will stay here again if we ever make it back.

My fav Hilton in El Paso I am very happy with the Hilton Garden on University of El Paso TX. The staff is helpful and friendly. Ray helped settle my folio and makes me feel welcome. Martha and Ron are also helpful & cordial. Temperature of my room is easily controlled, microwave & refrig works. My digital key was not working and a facility guy came up right away and helped me out. I have been returning here since March 2024, it’s June now. I tried other hotels and Hilton Garden on University of Ella’s is my favorite.

Friendly and helpful receptionist We stayed here overnight after a long drive from Dallas, on our way back to California. The check in process was smooth. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, she even recommended a local bbq restaurant (another review). There’s not much parking, but the facility is quite small anyways. The room was decent. The mattress is ok. Nothing really special about the hotel.

Quiet, comfortable, and great breakfast We stayed here twice, coming and going on our eclipse road trip. Arriving the first time, the desk staff said that our reservation had been cancelled! (Apparently I had inadvertently booked through a third party, and for whatever reason, they'd cancelled it.) Not to worry, Ray and Ron at the desk got us a room anyway. It was quiet and comfortable, though reaching for the toilet paper is a stretch! Also, the French toast for breakfast is outstanding! Because of the snafu that first night, I cancelled the return reservation with the third party and made a new one with Ron for our return before checking out. Ray greeted us by name when we returned!

Disappointing We stayed here yesterday (3/20), and it was so disappointing. The quality of HGI has really gone downhill. The staff were courteous and helpful, so that was an appreciated. But everything else was a poor experience. We requested a room with a king bed and sofa sleeper. The room was dingy and dark. The AC barely cooled the bedroom part of the room, and we had it turned down to 60 degrees on high fan. I can tell you it barely got below 69 degrees (I have a device that measures air temps). And the ac wasn’t blowing in the front part of the room where the sleeper sofa is. That part of the room was measured at 74 degrees. The bathroom wasn’t clean. And there was a very dirty shower mat that I guess they think someone should use?? (I’ve attached a picture: gross). There was a chair in the room that was stained and disgusting. Is this really the kind of pride the staff or Hilton brand has in HGI. smh The lobby smelled like spoiled milk, which is an arresting unpleasant smell when you first arrive. The best part of the hotel is the location.
