decent resort, but way above what I think should be it's price point I've stayed at a lot of hotels. I'm a lifetime Marriott Gold member, in spite of having lots of room nights at other brands. I stayed here for one night for a friend's 25th wedding anniversary gathering. Elkhart Lake is a quaint small town of good restaurants, resorts with a great vibe. The Shore Club is on the namesake lake which is crystal clear, perfect for swimming, paddling etc. The resort also has a nice private beach where you can plop of lawn chair and sit in the water all-day if that's your thing. The hotel is just a couple minute walk from two great restaurants downtown. In fact, once you park your car you probably won't won't need it until you check out unless you plan on golfing. There are indoor and outdoor pools, both of which are popular with kids. Lots of families where there and the kids were having a blast. I think the Tiki Bar overlooking the lake was great and it appears they have live music most weekend nights. It was a a lot of fun. I wouldn't call this place a luxury resort, although it is priced like one. My opinion musty be an outlier because it was nearly full. One couple waited too long to get the group rate (about $300 for one night including taxes) and they were quoted a rack rate of $450 for a room. The good news is they don't charge a "resort fee". That's a huge peeve of mine. First the good stuff, the air conditioner works. In fact, it was set to 60 degrees when we got to our room. I like how they have eliminated the wasteful small bottles of shampoo, conditioner etc., and have large dispensers in the shower. Well-stocked with towels. Beds were firm and comfortable. The small porch as nice to relax on in the morning. Here's the not so good that separates in from what I would call a great or luxury resort. Parking is a big issue. I think they have a lot of daytime guests and it was difficult to find a place to park. Valet parking isn't an option. We arrived early and correctly guessed our room wouldn't be ready. While I hung out with friends at the pool they would text my phone when it was ready. The first text I got said my room was ready, then I got another one saying "oops, not ready." The first thing I see when I get to the building with our room is an overflowing trash can with bees. It was still that way when we checked out. The rooms have been updated. I hope you like gray. Lots of it. No color. Kinda had a prison vibe. There was also no chair to sit on or a desk. Sterile in the word that comes to mind. Traffic in the dark and depressing hallway could be easily heard along with my neighbors in the adjoining room. Loved the Tiki Bar, but it was totally understaffed. Much of the afternoon and night there appeared to be just one bartender. He busted his butt, friendly and made strong cocktails. It's good, but when I compare it prices I've paid for placed like the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island, Grand Hotel Mackinac Island I think it's overpriced. The throngs from Illinois apparently disagree with me.

very difficult 2 nights We attended a wedding in town and spent a Thursday night and Friday night in the hotel. The room was large but other than the bed, had only one barstool style chair with a wooden seat and no back rest. The adjoining door was cut an inch higher than the floor so you could easily hear everything from the room next door. The tub plunger would not work so the only option was a shower. The toilet had a constant drip in the tank. We checked in at 5 pm on a Thursday only to be greeted by a loud barking dog next door. After going to bed that evening, a 2nd dog began barking after 10 pm. We were gone most of the day on Friday to the wedding. We left a housekeeping service request on the door (per their instructions) and when we arrived back, it was still on the door. No service done on the room; no coffee, no towels, nothing. Called the desk and they said housekeeping was overwhelmed. Rate was $170 for Thursday night and $240 for Friday. You would think that for $240, you could at least get room service. Hotel is old and dated. Good Luck but I wouldn't go back for anything.

Your dog is welcome at The Shore Club on Elkhart Lake. On that first rainy October day, we checked into The Shore Club. This tired pack delighted in one of the older accommodations which included two separate bedrooms with full kitchen and living room right smack dab in the middle. After being on the road for a few weeks, we couldn’t be happier with the large and comfortable space and the view of Elkhart Lake is right outside your door. Elkhart Lake’s newest resort opened its doors after a property-wide renovation and joined Choice Hotels group in 2020. Originally known as Lakeview House, it has welcomed guests for over a century. It was built in 1872, destroyed by fire in 1890 and rebuilt in 1891 and is still a premier destination for those who desire natural beauty and the pleasant ambiance of a little lakeside village. In the morning we enjoyed brunch at the Cottonwood Social at The Shore Club. Inspired by local ingredients from Wisconsin’s lakes and lands, the restaurant works with local farmers to offer the highest quality while also supporting the local community. Dine by the window with a view or sit awhile in the sumptuous leather chairs by a warm fire. Care for a Belgian Waffle? I did and it was yummy with bananas, toasted walnuts and maple syrup. In the summer, the Tiki Bar & Lounge is right outside where live music, sandwiches and salads are available. We could have stayed a few days longer at Elkhart Lake while making The Shore Club our home away from home, there are many other activities to consider such as hiking with our dogs on the Ice Age Trail. But that will have to wait until the next time we visit and trust me, we can’t wait to return to The Shore Club!

Best value for money and great staff Arrived near mid night and reception was closed, but our keys were left in a package at the lobby door with clear instructions. Staff was very responsive and helpful after keys weren’t working and came to meet us within 5 minutes to open the room. The room was amazing and worth way more than the $89 per night. Perhaps just got lucky and it’s discounted.

The rooms are very cozy with a nice porch and the famous Tiki Bar is just steps away. The food is great, the rooms are great, and the staff and owners are very accommodating and friendly.
