Excited to come back! We had a great experience at Grand Ely Lodge! From the friendly front desk check-in process to the bartender and housekeeping staff! Everyone was helpful, efficient and pleasant to speak with. We stayed on a ground level lakeview room and it was beautiful! I loved sitting on the bar 2nd floor deck while watching the sun set over the lake. Thank you for a magical time - we are excited to come back again!

Nice clean rooms with comfortable beds My husband and I stayed at the Grand Ely Lodge for a couple of days over 4th of July weekend. We were visiting my brother and his wife and were initially planning on staying at their house. Unfortunately, I quickly discovered I was severely allergic to their dog. As a result we quickly needed to find a place to stay and this resort was recommended. It did not disappoint! The rooms were clean, and the beds were very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful & found a way to accommodate us on such short notice. We dined at the restaurant once for the breakfast buffet and once for dinner. We enjoyed the dinner more than the breakfast buffet. However, the buffet wasn’t bad and was reasonably priced at $13.50/person. I would definitely recommend this Lodge.

Can't wait to go back! We all enjoyed our stay so much. We had just gone to the headwaters near Bemidji and stayed there one night. That motel was not good at all. We drove to Ely to purchase items and decided to stay an extra night, and as luck would have it we decided on Grand Ely Lodge. We didn't have a reservation but were able to get a room even with our 2 dogs. Margie was working and she was great helping us and explained all amenities included. Small world as Margie knew my husband's brother and sister-in-law from years ago. Because we had dogs, they have the dog entrance on first floor with lake view, making it perfect to take pets in and out, with the sliding glass door. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. The pool area was great. We ate lunch there, and we couldn't get over how good everything was including the prices. We were lucky to get in for breakfast without a reservation, and again, so, so good. The guys enjoyed walking down to the lakeshore and taking in some of what is offered. All in all, we have stayed in lots of hotels, but this is above many. We loved it and will be our go to place for a relaxing trip.

This restaurant is absolutely excellent! This restaurant is absolutely excellent, so excellent we went to dinner there a second time even though we weren’t staying on the property. We had the Walleye filets, panfried. It came with a choice of soup or salad, choice of potato & a hot roll. (They offer two filets for an upcharge, but honestly we couldn’t eat anymore!) The service was excellent, and the price for all that food was $18.50 per serving!

Really nice place. Went here for my wife's Birthday. Excellent place to get away from everything. Very clean and cozy with good service. The on-site restaurant was also very good. With a nice menu selection and also good bar. The one issue I had with this place was the snow-mobiliers coming in out of the snow smelling like oil and gas and filling up the place with fumes. The smell only lasted a little while but was nauseating at the time. The should have a separate "mud room" area for these people to come in through.
