save yourself the trouble by not booking here The hotel was in terrible condition, very untidy it had a foul smell and has a very unwelcoming feel to it. The website should let guest be aware that the hotel is under construction but failed to do so. it is very dirty, we left because there was no way to find comfort in the poorly cared for rooms. beware the pictures on the website are also very misleading , the hotel looks nothing like them! The pool is very small and the area is unappealing, definitely not a pool for older children. there are much better hotels in the area, make this one your absolute last resort.

Hotel undergoing extensive rehab!! My review submitted directly to the hotel was rejected because it claimed the my review was not based on personal experience! I'm sharing the following here because it was very obviously my personal experience and now I'm further annoyed!!! "As I came to this site to review, I see others are experiencing the same problem. This hotel used to be our preferred spot in Spfld area but the hotel is undergoing a big rehab and doesn't share that on its website- It was a substandard experience- no one cleaned our room for three days even tho we were out of there around 11 each day and didn't return until very late in the evening. Hair dryer broken out of the wall. Electric outlets on one side mysteriously died on Day 3, taking with them the charging station and bedside clock. The "full service" restaurant is currently reduced to very meager offerings at breakfast and with so little to tend to, it seems ridiculous that the coffee ran out two days in a row. We are from the West Coast and were on vacation, so the sound of construction at 9 am was like a 6 am. wake up call for us. Because we prepaid, we were told there was no consideration to be given for all of the above except a free night's stay in the future. No thanks...

Great big room with an itty bitty bathroom (that hadn't been cleaned). Stayed here by default as our first choice was booked. Requested a suite but they were sold out so we were given an "executive room" which is basically an oversized room with a pull out couch. The room itself was enormous, but didn't have enough furniture to fill it....just lots of empty floor space. The open closet had enough room to hang 50 coats if you were to host a party or clothes for a year if you were staying that long. The bathroom however was so tiny that when you opened the door it blocked the entire tub/shower - weird use of space. We also had some short & curly black hairs in the tub when we arrived - gross! And when we went to pull out the couch for our son there were dirty sheets already on it. I called for replacement sheets and pillow and comforter for the pull out as there were none in the massive closet area. Housekeeping came with two comforters and had to go back for the rest. The breakfast buffet was average at best but it was included so I didn't expect much. They had a tough time keeping the buffet filled leaving many people waiting to eat. The staff was the only redeeming quality here. I wouldn't stay again unless I had no other choice.

overnight trip to six flags We chose this hotel because it is just a short, easy drive to six flags. We were very happy with our stay. The room, public areas, pool, and restaurant were clean and well maintained. We had a late dinner at the restaurant and the food was very good. We had the breakfast buffet in the morning and it was just ok. I think if we ordered from the breakfast menu, we would have enjoyed it more, but we were in a hurry. The service was very good at both dinner and breakfast. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to get us checked in a bit early and were quick to deliver some extra pillows to our room. I would definitely stay here again on our next visit to 6 flags.

On point service lovely property One of the most welcoming and easy check-in experiences I have ever had; the room was well appointed and beautiful. One of the largest I have ever had behind a presidential suite I once stayed in D.C. it even had two beautiful bathrooms! Lovely pool area and grounds. Breakfast was a treat and the blond lady on breakfast staff was truly accommodating and made my morning cheerful. Check-out was an ease too and I was granted an extra hour to gather my things, the only draw back was leaving this well maintained hotel behind; rest assured I will be back and likewise be recommending the property as the priemier place to stay in northwest Connecticut. Thank you Robert, Mary and team!
