Awesome location. Run down property. Perfect location for exploring Yosemite. However, the door to the bathroom was so stiff I got locked in, there are nails sticking out on the deck and I cut foot open, the shower head was not tall enough and I had to bend to wash my hair, they don’t provide housekeeping, the room was extremely dusty. The ice machine barely works, and it was 99oF+ They don’t have knives to cut the bagels they have for breakfast. I asked to contact the owner but was told my messages would be passed on and no one got back to me.

Close to Yosemite! I only stayed here for it's close proximity to Yosemite's South Entrance-- with being the week of July 4th I didn't know what to expect for entry lines and this place seemed to be a good fit. Well, the location was great we were up and drove right through the gate at 6:30, no wait. This hotel has pretty grounds, but don't count on the pool or restaurant during your stay. The room was old and needs some upgrades- velcro and duct tape held our shower door closed and the carpet in the room needed a good shampoo or better yet-- replaced. On a positive note the beds and linens were clean and we were thankful for a good working air conditioner. The rooms were also spacious and had plenty of table space and a nice deck. Nice lobby with a few Yosemite items if you don't want to wait in line at the National Park Visitor Centers.

Stop and eat or take a train ride on your drive past the Narrow Gauge Inn Great location, just 4 miles from the South entrance to Yosemite. Quiet small room, great restaurant (only open for dinner on select days). Fun train ride on the Yosemite Mountain Sugar Pine Railroad at the adjacent property. Downside was the room wasn't ready for 1 1/2 hours after check-in, broken coffee maker, had to wait for hot water to shower, doubt the pool will ever open, no housekeeping during stay.

Too expensive with a view of dozens of discarded mattresses Too expensive for the value. Plus the staff was a bit surly. The view of a dumpster from my room, complete with a mountain of discarded mattresses (bug infestation? Why?) was an eyesore in what was intended to be a vacation in Yosemite’s nature.

Should be SO MUCH better for the money Having paid $166 for a King Room, we were pleased by the size of the bed & the lovely forest outlook. But having left a message about our arrival time & to book a table for dinner, we were disappointed to discover: 1/ The restaurant was closed. 2/ Breakfast was nothing more (extra cost) sandwiches. 3/ The TV didn't work. 4/ There was only one bedside table. 5/ The folded corner rug was a trip hazard. 6/ There was only one glass & two clothes hangers. 7/ The ancient heater / air-conditioner was noisy enough to wake us up in the night. 8/ The water heater is only on in the mornings, so only cold showers are available in the evening. 9/ Flimsy single ply toilet paper. 10/ A total absence of tea or milk (only ghastly sweetened 'milk substitutes') On the plus side, we were offered chocolate milk as an alternative (!)
