Don't stay here. It -- literally -- stinks. This place, quite literally, stinks. Originally assigned a room on the fourth floor across from the elevator about 9:00PM on our arrival, we couldn't believe how the room and the floor smelled like an old folks home. The clerk moved us to the third floor, and the same pungent stink was significant. In the morning, we went to the front desk clerk who offered to move us -- but the smell would likely be the same. Explaining the horrific aroma, she said they had an "incident" on the 3rd floor - and that they had permanent guests on the fourth floor who caused the smell there. Also, if they remodeled/revised this property in the past couple of years as a manager wrote in a rebuttal to a guest on this site, the work was poor. It seems this hotel hasn't been updated for easily a decade.

Tired and over overpriced The location is good but it ends there. The hall (4th floor) smells of rotten milk as soon as you get off the elevator. They do not offer house keeping until you have stayed 3 nights! Apparently 'since COVID'... this is mid-2024. This level of service is not consistent with a hotel room charging $350+/night! I travel 2-3 nights a week in hotels and rooms are on par with $100 a night motels. The suite was somewhat spacious, with a tub on the middle of the bedroom (hello 1985). Photos make it look a lot better than the rather awkward reality that it is. There is a fireplace but you get a starter log and no wood... and of course only on the first night because no one comes to your room for 2 more nights! The rooms are tired, the pull out couch mattress could not be more uncomfortable.

No compassion or care about their guest. Would give less that 1 if could. Will not stay here if last hotel available. Made a reservation for an event and two days before the date we have a very devistating death in the family, unfortunately causing us to have to cancel the event and the trip all together. We contacted the hotel even offered proof of the death and was advised there would be a cancelation fee but that it would be waived due to the circumstances. After looking at our statement we were not only charged for both cancelation fees but at a higher cost then the room rate itself. I called the hotel to discuss and was told the manager was gone for the day. She did call me back the next day advising me that I was informed of the cancelation fee in an email and admitted that they had in fact charged it inappropriately it was still however higher then the room rate and would refund the difference but would not budge on honoring what their employee told us about waiving the cancelation fee. I run a business myself and would never treat clients like this. Completely unprofessional and not compassionate in any way. Would not stay at a place where they had no care for their clients or guests. The even was rescheduled and we would have considered staying there and have booked additional rooms elsewhere. We will not be staying here.

Bad customer service I made my booking in error and was not notified until I received a missed check in alert. The hotel showed zero understanding and refused to issue a refund. Given the reservation was mid week and only for one night, I found their unwillingness to refund a bit ridiculous. Based on customer service, I will not patron this establishment in the future nor would I recommend it.

A place of care After losing my wife. I needed to come to Folsom to visit son. Several years ago my wife and i stayed here. I remember the awesome experience then. And happy to say that lake nataoma. Is still awesome. Everyone from Ashley Osborne At the front desk. To the most wonderful Yatziri in the restaurant. I felt as though they went above and beyond. With greeting me and made my time of sadness. A bright spot of my stay. Thank you to the housekeeping staff and maintenance staff. I hope to return to Folsom soon and would love to be back at lake nataoma.
