Birthday celebration It started out wonderful and ended perfectly. Eric made sure to feel we were welcome and checked to see everything was fine. he was so kind and helpful in every way. He is an asset to the Abbey and when a friend asked where to go for a spa experience I said don’t even think of going anywhere else so word of mouth is the best advertising she thus made a reservation for her and her daughter the day after Easter and made 3 spa appointments . I am also coming back this Sunday and Monday.

Never again!! The Abbey will never see another penny of mine!! We have been coming to the Abbey for many years for our girls trips. We booked the Spa package . As we entered the Avani spa we were told there is no hot water and the whirlpool is is out of order, while disappointed we dealt with it. This is a health hazard as the masseuse could not properly clean hand in between clients. Once we were able to check in ( additional fee to check in early now) even though it is mid week and the hotel was not full! Once we got to our room , we were ready to take showers since the spa showers were not working. To our dismay, the hotel room had no hot water either!!! We tried to call the front desk and the room phone didn’t work!! The hotel only wants communication through text now. We finally got the front desk who swore they had no idea the whole building had no hot water!!! So we had to change rooms…. The property seems to be falling apart as I saw men knocking on guest room doors to repair things in addition to the workers trying to repair the boiler in the spa and building 7!, when we checked out we reminded them of our issues and again the clerk said they had no idea what was happening!! How can this be true??? We asked for some compensation and they took off the resort fee25.00 of a 500.00 package!!!! This is Easter week, I’m sure the hotel will be packed and the guests are in for a rude awakening!.

Couples Anniversary Weekend Hotel rooms were very clean and updated. Loved the high ceilings making the room feel large. The grounds were very nice and I’m sure in peak season it’s a busy place! Enjoyed the indoor hot tub and pool, which felt very clean as well. Would absolutely recommend and stay again.

Avani Spa is the Highlight In the offseason, it's a great location for a spa day and we had a very reasonable room rate with no 2 night requirement. It's wise to book a service because the day passes are purportedly limited quantity; sold in person/day of only etc etc. Access isn't part of a room reservation. That said, the spa was very relaxing - lots of towels, very comfy chaises, a good number of attendants and the technicians were very good. We also enjoyed some food & beverage delivery poolside (a small limited "healthy" menu) which was very convenient (gratuity is added). The spa had areas that also had their wear & tear, along with a broken whirlpool and ants (!!) that were in the steam room by the steam vents - YUCK YUCK YUCK!! As to the resort itself, they want to assess an early check in fee before actual check in - I've never heard of this in my life. Any other hotel or resort I've stayed at just graciously allows you to obtain your room with no add-on fees. Also ridiculous considering you pay a resort fee for very little by way of amenities. The Abbey is really about location - being waterfront, having indoor & outdoor pools plus the spa, a bar/coffee shop and Little Bar (pizza only) within a short walk. You can also walk to Chuck's or Gordy's but the latter is closed in the off season as we learned. Otherwise, this is a dated property. It's fine for one night, though the very loud bathroom fan that runs automatically when you turn on the bathroom light was driving me to deafness and insanity. Bed was comfy, bathroom towels were good and plenty of hot water & water pressure. BAD lighting for application of makeup, ladies, with a makeup mirror that doesn't light up. We did not dine on premises other than the spa food delivery but we visited the bar/lounge area that had a live duo. The music was a bit painful although the 2 fellas seemed very nice. To wrap up, if you're looking for a more glamorous spot, my go to is the Grand Geneva. If you're spending little time on property or in your room, the Abbey is suitable.

Fantastic Getaway! I had a fantastic stay at The Abby. The check-in with Tasha really set my stay up for success! She was very helpful and helped me get the right room for my needs. Very friendly and accommodating. I spent my day at the spa and had a couple of wonderful spa services. Relaxed at the pool with lunch and drinks. The only disappointment was that the hot tub wasn't working. Noel was very helpful at spa checkout. I had a nice dinner in the main restaurant and slept great in the very comfortable. This wasn't my first stay at The Abbey and it won't be my last!
