Great stay! The resort room was a little dated, but pretty clean and comfortable. They make you rent some of the chairs with umbrellas but the blue ones are free, weird. The Palm Garden restaurant was excellent. Reginal was a great server, very attentive and pleasant and the manager took time to interact with us and was very accommodating. Overall a very pleasant experience .

It reminds me of Cheers, they remember your name! I love Lago Mar and the people working there. It is a friendly and welcoming resort. The food is great, the spirits are great and the folks at the bar, Kim, Chuck, Dennis, Kelly and Dany always remember your name. Claudia in the restaurant is great. Managers Jim, Jane and Joe are fabulous.

Private beach, clean pool, and top notch customer service We stayed here two nights pre cruise. We met the infamous Joan and she was so lovely! We had the breakfast buffet 2x and she told us that the chef could make my children Mickey Mouse pancakes. Adorable. All the servers are so incredibly thoughtful down to the smallest details such as to go cups so my kids could finish their juice. The chefs in the Palm Garden dining are also so knowledgeable and accommodating. One of my children has a peanut allergy and they checked labels for us for the waffles and pancakes and reassured us that a server has allergies too so that restaurant removed peanuts altogether. My kiddo could eat everything except the baked goods in that restaurant. Be sure to check towel station times as it closes earlier than the pool so make sure you get your towels beforehand if you want to go for an evening swim. The beach was spacious and private enough. It was a short stroll to the beach (no need to cross the street either!) and there were roped off turtle nesting areas. Lots of activities such as the pool(s), giant chess game, hammocks, ping pong table, mini putting, and a small playground for younger kids. Bring bug spray as the mosquitos are fierce! We went when the American kids were back in school so we did not have issues with finding a chair by the pool or it being crowded. The rooms were big and the views were gorgeous. While it was clean, there were ants on the balcony at times and sleeping under the vent in the room had my dust allergic kiddo sniffing with watery eyes the next day but we moved him to the other bed and he was fine after. If we were really concerned, I have no doubt that we would have been moved had we complained because the customer service was top notch. Everyone was so helpful and they were constantly cleaning public spaces like vacuuming or moping up wet floors from people coming in from the pool. They even had tampons and pads in the washrooms. Everything was just so thoughtfully done here. We ubered some cruise supplies to the resort with no issues and took an uber to the port the next day. It was a short drive and everything went smoothly. We would definitely stay here again primarily due to the customer service, clean pool, and private beach.
