Excellent beach front hotel We stayed at the W Fort Lauderdale for a week in August. The hotel is expensive but offers substantial value for that money. Check-in with Ryan was efficient and well-handled. We had a suite, and it was elegant, extremely clean and comfortable, with a king bed and a full kitchen. The sound-proofing on the room was exceptional -- we couldn't hear anything outside when the doors were closed. The balcony had a view of the ocean and the inland waterway, which was lovely. We counted the cruise ships at the Port of Everglades. The onsite pool was great -- lovely water, comfortable couches, and excellent service. James, the waiter on the first day, was cheerful and efficient. The beach (right across the street in front of the hotel) was nice, with warm water and reasonable waves. The hotel sets you up with towels, two couches and an umbrella, and the folks doing the set up were polite and effective. In hotel restaurants were solid. El Vez serves good Mexican style food, while Steak 954 does steak (as you might have guessed). The food and service at both were top-notch. All in all, I would highlight the comfort of the various parts of the hotel (room, pool, beach) and the friendly and efficient service from everyone. We really did feel welcome at all times.

Absolutely Filthy Hotel, Not Covid Safe, Under Staffed, Never Updated Since Inception I highly recommend You DO NOT spend your hard earned money on this disgrace of a hotel. Disguised under the W brand! My girlfriend and I stayed from the date of July 26th 2021 through July 31st 2021. She and I flew out to Fort Lauderdale from JFK. Our intention for the trip, search for a place to live. We sold our home and decided on moving to south Florida. We chose the W at $400 plus per night to avoid everything that occurred during our stay. She and I figured we would spend the additional money which totaled $2,400 for the 5 day stay. Due to the brand and previous positive experience with the W Los Angeles & NYC. As soon as we arrived we noticed the hotel valet, lobby, bar, outdoor deck, pool was unkept, run down and did not represent the photos on their site. This was like an online dating experience. Your date shows up and she or he is 15 years older than their photos and aged very poorly. Once we got up to our room, I just couldn’t believe the condition. The room was incredibly underwhelming, carpets absolutely filthy, room outdated. We had barely anything in the room, 2 hangers, no glass cups, no working refrigerator or mini bar we had to have one brought up. I had to call room service for everything. Plumbing in the room was even worse. Everytime I turned on the water a loud ringing sound went on due to the pressure in the pipes. Took at least 10 mins for the water to get hot every single time. Used the bathroom once and the toilet clogged. Had to call for a plunger. The pillows were trash, so uncomfortable, sheets stained and felt dirty. Music blasting until 1:30 am. That was night 1, called the front desk in the morning complained and our room was switched from 711 to 1411. Room was a little better but still filthy carpets hot water took 10 mins and barely any towels. We didn’t even ask for housekeeping until day 4. We were out all day everyday looking for a place to live. We had to ask the front desk to have our room cleaned. When we got back they made the bed didnt vacuume or clean the room at all whatsoever. My gf left the dirty towels sort of folded on the floor The housekeeping crew took the dirty towels and placed them under the sink shelf dirty for future use. We have never had such a horrible experience ever even at a lower end hotel. Also, the carpets in the hallways have not been vacuumed or cleaned in months, there was a cart with garbage and dirty dishes outside our room for 4 days straight. We complained 3 times and it was still there the morning we checked out. Finally, my gf kept getting random charges on her debit card from the hotel. We had ordered room service 2 times. First time we got 2 salads and a glass of wine She got charged $89 dollars Second time we got a pitcher of coffee she was charged $95 We literally had to call the front desk to complain and inquire about charges everyday. They looked into the charges and didn’t know where they came from. Not once did we use the pool or go to the beach. We were there for a home. Next she had a charge for $400 of which was a pending charge that should not have been there we called about that and it was dropped the next day. Finally they charge 48 per day if you rent a car and need to park it As well as a 47 per day resort fee. I mean look my gf and I have very good taste, we like nice things and we have class. We would never waste our time with this review if this wasn’t the worst hotel we had ever experienced. I did this because I want to warn other people about this disgusting trashy hotel. If you are ok with mediocre and have money to burn by all means stay. If you prefer not to be taken advantage of due to a deceptive business practice STAY FAR AWAY!!! I will say the valet was very nice and accommodating, the hotel staff was friendly But this hotel in no way shape or from represents the W brand. NOT even close! Personally, I did not feel the hotel was covid safe or following covid protocols. I ended up feeling sick when we arrived back home. Had masks on in the airport and airplane the whole time. I have also reported them to the better business burea. At best this is a $200 per night hotel

Our home away from home in Fort Lauderdale. Amazing stay. I had the most relaxing treatment from Lucy in the spa and left with some amazing products. The restaurants are all top quality and the room service food was delicious. We were here for a week and the staff made us feel like friends by the time our trip was finished.

Top notch service by Ryan at guest services When arriving at the property we checked in with Ryan who was extremely helpful, however there was a line and he was the only one at the desk which seems odd for a hotel of this caliber. Ryan took the time to make each guest feel special which made the wait all worth it. When we got into our room, we had some housekeeping issues and came down to show Ryan photos. He came out from behind the desk to listen to our concerns. Following our conversation, he consulted a manager who gave him the go ahead to upgrade us to a 1 bedroom suite from our Mega room. I am sure the suite with a full kitchen was much more per night and Ryan did not charge us any additional fees. After getting into the new room after 20 minutes we got a call from Ryan asking if we were satisfied, I was floored! I felt that he really cares about the guest experience and wanted to make it right. This is not something you see often now with the staff shortages across the country. Thank you Ryan!

Amazing visiting, best hotel in Fort Lauderdale Once again the W Fort Lauderdale exceeded my expectations. From the second I arrived I was greeted by the receptionist, Gloria, who was exceptionally professional and accommodating. Throughout my stay Gloria strived to make the experience at the W more comfortable and convenient for me and my guests. Highly recommend staying here for unparalleled service and an overall great visit to Fort Lauderdale beach.
