Not impressed Locatiin to Carowinds was great. Breakfast was meager at best. Shower leaked water in floor causing a slip hazard. Poor design. Fire alarm went off for no reason at 1:30 am. Location to park and Cracker Barrel was great thiugh. Coffee was cheap and bad. Staff friendly.

Avoid - awful experience After a 5-hour car trip, we arrived at your hotel around 11:30 p.m. and found an empty reception with a sign where you could read something like "I am serving other clients and will be back soon, thank you for your wait" while the phone was ringing and no one was responsible for it We realized who the receptionist was who should be assisting us. He wasn't really helping any clients, he was sitting at the door of the hotel and smoking weed with his friends. After more than 20 minutes of waiting, we went to ask if he could check us in, and all we received was very unpleasant, rude and even racist behavior. It was really a very unpleasant situation that ruined our time in Carolina during our road trip in the United States. At the same time that he was checking us in, he yelled at other guests on the phone, and without explaining anything to us at all, he limited himself to giving us the keys to the room that we ourselves had to find and imagine where it was. In addition to this entire unpleasant experience, I must mention that the glass door in the shower was loose and unscrewed from the wall, which represents a great danger for clients, but we did not go down to say anything for fear of the treatment received by the person who should be concerned about our well-being. The next day, the breakfast was miserable, so horrible that on the last day we left without having breakfast, but you already know this, because it is what everyone writes in the reviews.

Scarawinds trip for the girls We were in town to do Scareawinds and are ever so thankful we decided to get a room because we were exhausted when the night was over and a 3.5 hr drive home would not have been fun. The checkin was a breeze. Our room was comfortable and plenty of room to store our belongings. The beds were comfortable and we took a short nap so that we would have PLENTY of energy for the night. Here is the not so fun part. the next morning our toliet decided it was done with us and would not flush so we promptly notified the front desk ( I did it in person, learned from my Momma) and maintenance was sent immediatley to corrent the problem. The breakfast is typical so we skipped it and got something a bit more substantial on the way home. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay and next year when we drag Momma we'll be staying here. I would like to give a huge SHOUTOUT to Rhonda for a few things. When I orginally made my reservation my fingers were faster than my brain and I put in the wrong dates by a day. When I realized what I had done, I didn't want to tell my husband because this was already paid for and I tried to go thru Booking.com to get it fixed but that didn't work ( I didn't expect it to either but I have been taught to go up the ladder to make sure you don't step on toes) Well Momma told me to call and ask to speak to the GM and just expalin what was going on and maybe something could be worked out. I called the GM and it was Rhonda. I explained my snafu and she was kind enough to fix things on her end and send me a confirmation email so that we would have that for our records. I made it a point to meet her on Sunday and turns out she was the one I reported the issue with the toilet to. Thank you again Rhonda for your kindness and quick attention to the problem in the bathroom.

Cleanliness and communication issues, good location, currently under renovation I'm not a super picky person, but I expect to be notified in advance when the hotel will be under construction during my stay. The elevator was not available, the kitchen was closed. We were placed on the 3rd floor so we had to lug our stuff up the stairs. I would've packed differently, would've packed breakfast had I known. We frequently travel with my handicapped father so I am sensitive to these issues. If he had been with us, we would have been forced to find a different hotel at the last second. Not everyone that is handicapped books a handicapped room. All guests should be informed when renovations alter accessibility and included meals. We were given a partial refund after asking. In addition to these issues, the room was not in good shape. The bathroom door was a slider that would not lock... that is completely unacceptable. There was a squished bug in the corner of the wall. The floors were dirty and the sheets were stained with something brown. Not a great experience. Another issue is soundproofing. I could hear all of the trucks pulling into the gas station next door all hours of the night and music coming from cars. It woke me up several times and I'm not a light sleeper. The entrances with key card access were not available for use so when parking in the pouring rain, you had to walk all the way around the building to get in. People started propping the door and that erases the security aspect... the hotel disabled the door alarm because people kept propping it open. Why not fix the card reader instead? As they're SO close to Carowinds, literally right across the street, I'm hoping they'll step it up when the reno is done. Bed was comfy, nice vanity area, nice gentleman working the front desk, close to Carowinds and I-77. If the room had been more clean, I would've rated 3 stars.

Rude Employees The rooms were ok but the staff was very rude. The old lady seemed like she didn’t want me there and had other more important things to do. When I finally got to checkin they gave me nasty look. Try something different next time.
