AVOID THIS ROACH MOTEL WITH NON-FUNCTIONING TOILETS. I booked a double suite for a 2-day, one-night stay at this hotel. Long story short: this hotel is subpar to Marriott's other properties and I would AVOID IT LIKE THE PLAGUE unless you want the stress of potentially bringing some roach friends home as a souvenir. We found one roach inside of our room crawling along the wall late at night which we promptly killed and disposed of. The next morning after we were checking out, we spotted yet ANOTHER ROACH in the hallway sitting on the wall right next to the elevator. How disgusting?! The toilets in our room stopped working and we were given dish washing liquid and a dirty plunger by the front desk staff to unclog them since there was no plumber on-site. Completely outrageous considering the toilets should be in tip-top shape to begin with. How can you expect hotel guests to be unclogging toilets. Marriott refuses to refund me my money, only providing a discount and I think this is outrageous. AVOID AVOID AVOID.

ADA room was not up to Marriott standards This stay was my second stay at this property. This property has two separate buildings with rooms. My first stay was in a 1 bed room suite in building b, this time I had requested an ADA room (Accessible Room with Roll-in Shower), which was in building a. I enjoyed my first stay in building b in the 1-bedroom suite, however I had a very unpleasant stay and many issues with the quality of the ADA room: The bad: 1. -The room had a damp/musty smell; 2. -The room was very dull, very little sun light; 3. -The carpet in the room was faded, had tears and stains; 4. -The walls had visible chipped paint and stains 5. -There was a lot of crumbs and other dirt when I opened the sofa bed; 6. -The furniture in the room was worn out, sagging chairs with scratches and food stains; 7. -The bathrooms were decent, but I could see the dirt/mold in the tile grout; 8. -There was no shampoo/conditional in one of the two bathrooms 9. -The appliances in the kitchen area had several scratches; 10. -The oven vent hood in the kitchen did not work – no fan/no light; 11. -This was a 2 bedroom suite, the overall living area was rather small/cramped for 5 people; 12. -There was cold air coming in from the windows; 13. -I had requested a pack n play for my infant son. The first one that was in the room when I checked in was not stable, had stains all over and it folded on its own (very dangerous). The staff did quickly replace it, with a stable but still stained pack n play; 14. -The check-out time in the room was posted as 12noon on the wall, however the front desk insisted checkout was 11am. When I mentioned the signage in the room they dismissed me and reiterated 11am. The good: The location is amazing, very safe, lots of do just around the corner (lake, movies, shops, restaurants, etc..), the lobby was clean, the parking was sufficient, the breakfast was good, front desk staff were responsive, noise level was low If this was a Motel 6 and I was paying cheap prices, I would have not been so unhappy with my stay. However, I expect higher standards for a Marriott, especially if I am paying $150+/per night.

Musical Rooms 1 night stay while visiting a relative in the area. 2 adults (one of whom is in a wheelchair) & 1 teenager. I booked a 2 room accessible suite through the Marriott website using my member number. We chose Residence Inn because of the great experience we had at the Annapolis location. This room, while not bad, did not compare to the one we had there. Desk clerk was friendly. Check-in quick & easy. Lobby & breakfast area were clean and nice. It would be a plus to have tea & coffee available 24/7. Although our building was non-smoking, there was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hall as soon as we came in. When we got to our room, we found it was not handicapped accessible. The bedroom was tiny and he was not able to access the bathroom. I went back to the desk to inform them of the mistake. The clerk said there were no ADA suites available. I explained I had reserved one days in advance through their website. She said other guests in those rooms extended their stays. I understand that current guests would be given preference over a new one, however I did not understand why they would put someone in a wheelchair in a non-accessible room. As it turns out, there was an available ADA accessible room nearby, which was convenient, so we gathered our belongings and moved across the hall. (Why we weren't assigned that one in the first place, I don't know.) The room was spacious and easy for a wheelchair to maneuver in. I like that Residence rooms have little kitchens and seem more like an efficiency than a hotel room. The overall condition of the room could have been better, though. The bathroom was ADA compliant, but needs some attention. Torn shower curtain, rust on tub, and handheld shower head would not stay in place forcing a guest to stand smooshed against the wall to shower. The queen bed was on a VERY high platform, making it impossible for someone in a wheelchair to transfer into the bed. A paralyzed person travelling alone would have had to check out and leave. Luckily, we were able to lift him into the bed. I would point out that this is not a problem exclusive to this property or chain/brand, but throughout the hotel industry. The bed also had a very thick, soft mattress pad which is normally great, but adds height and hinders movement for a handicapped person. My daughter slept on the sofa bed. It was hard and uncomfortable, as was the sofa itself. Breakfast staff was friendly. Breakfast buffet had fresh apples and bananas, yogurt, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, a waffle machine, etc. Overall impression was average. Staff was friendly, which is a huge plus. But, the room we stayed in was tired and outdated and in need of extra maintenance & housekeeping attention. We were a little disappointed with this property based on the previous Residence we stayed in. We take weekend trips several times a year, but may choose another hotel before choosing Residence again.

Reasonable price with complimentary breakfast and lite dinner. I highly recommended this hotel. The price we pay is reasonable. The room is spacious and clean. They breakfast is includes in the price and they have a social dinner also at 6-7:30 pm which is included for the price we pay. Just you can hear the noise from the outside but it's ok.

Clean and comfy, not for business traveler I have stayed here a few times before, I travel for work in this area and this is the hotel I am given by the Department of Education. It is a nice room, very modern and spacious, it's like staying in a studio apartment. The breakfast is good, the breakfast area is too small to accommodate all of the people that stay here though. The fitness center is small but did the job while I was there. My only complaint is that this property caters to the long term tenant, so you get many people who use it as their full-time residence and it leads to cooking of food that smells awful so I frequently got a whiff of fried fish or whatever they were cooking that just made me a bit sick to my stomach. The location is great, there is the RIO shopping center right next door with many dining options. It would have been nice if the hotel offered a shuttle service to the metro station, its $10+ each way for Uber/Lyft to the metro station, which would make it just more convenient for the business traveller like mysefl.
