Bad experience This Hotel does not meet the High Standards of being a Double Tree by Hilton Hotel. My current experience was not one I would have liked to have experienced. I experienced the following: The appearance is nothing like what is seen on the website. When you walk through the doors the smell is overwhelming. The price per night is overstated and overrated based upon the appearance of the rooms. I was moved from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor due to the appearance of the "Beach Front Room." The price of the rooms are over price and the name of the room did not reflect the quality nor appearance of the actual room. I personally disinfected and cleaned both rooms. The carpet was old and stained. The rooms smelled old. Attending a family reunion and having other family members staying at the hotel whom my 84-year-old aunt, my husband and cousin were stuck in the elevator for about 20 minutes. Me and my family members were told we would get a $30 food credit ($15 food credit per day, per person for each person in the room) by Emmanuel at the front desk. What was told to us was not the case. I was personally called a "liar" by Emmanuel who disrespected me as an adult and as a customer of the hotel. Vonnie also a part-time employee asked Emmanuel to hold it down, but she would not get the Manager after I requested her to. If I had known I would be disrespected and treated in this manner before I booked the rooms I would not have booked the hotel for a family reunion. My request to have one night reimbursed for my experiences and to have the food charges removed from my credit card have not been honored by Management.

Wet carpet and musty Carpet and sheets stay wet from humidity. The AC is old and does not properly dehumidify the room. Rooms smell musty and dirty. I would not recommend staying here at all. Needs a deep cleaning - Mildew everywhere! This hotel could use a good deep cleaning. If it was not for the lady at the desk when I checked in, I probably would have left. I arrived early and they said that my room was ready and when I went to the room it reeked of mildew, and you could see the mildew on the lamps. I went to the front desk and was provided another room however that room was no better and was with an obstructed view. Finally, I was provided a room on the 4th floor, and it was good if I would have reserved a room with two beds instead of one king bed. I was tired of changing rooms, so I dealt with the two beds. The room was as clean as it could be. I think the hotel is in much need of a remodel. There was only one elevator that worked so anticipate a long wait for the elevator especially during check out. When I checked out, I notified the front desk clerk, and the lady was very rude. She never apologized on the hotel's behalf, and she said we were never charged an early check in fee so you should be thankful. I told her I was never told about an early check in fee otherwise I would have waited also I advised the staff that if a room wasn't available, I didn't have a problem waiting. She goes to say well let me speak to the manager, but she probably won't do anything to compensate for the bad experience. The clerk comes back and says the manager can take off $25 and that's it. You would think the manager would want to come out and address the concerns in person versus having the clerk relay the message. In summation, the hotel needs a deep cleaning and also needs staff that at least acts hospitable. I tried to give Hilton another chance however they failed the "smell" test literally. I will stick with the Marriot chain hotels going forward. The only positive from this experience, was the pool and the nice lady that checked me in.

Run,Run,Run One of the dirtiest hotels I've ever been to. Shower Was filthy, stains on carpet, walls were beat. Doors looked Awful, Didn't even spend the night. We left and found another place. That they would rent this room out disappoints me in Hilton.

Perfect for the Price! Pros: Great view from the balcony of the Gulf, the Pleasure Pier, and the historic architecture surrounding the seawall. Directly next door to Miller's Seawall Grill for a fantastic and affordable breakfast. Very little traffic compared to further down the seawall, so nights and early mornings on the balcony were peaceful. The door blocked all sound from outside and the street Nice pool with a swim-up bar. The bar was a bit pricey, but that's to be expected for a resort, and it was worth it to be able to wade up to the bar in between tanning in the lounge chairs. The pool is NOT heated, but we visited in the first week of October, and the weather was still warm enough to swim during midday. We saw several small children braving the water even after dark. Very nice staff. As many other reviews mentioned, you will see the same friendly folks throughout your trip, and everyone seemed content working for the hotel and were good at their jobs. One con: Yes, the main elevator is out of order. This was never a problem for us, but the service elevator IS small, and on the morning of our check out there was a traffic jam for the elevator as everyone was trying to check out at the same time. I hope Hilton sees these reviews and helps this hotel fix the elevator to create a truly 5-star experience at this hidden gem.
