BUGS!!!! And dirty rooms!!! Saw SEVERAL BUGS!!!! I went to the bathroom in middle of night, a large roach bug was crawling down the wall. I started examining the room a little more because it was very concerning (this was about midnight at this point because I had woke up to use the restroom), and then noticed a big bug squashed above the door that cleaning did not bother to get down. Absolutely disgusting. I then saw another roach in a crack, and noticed a huge gaping hole in the unfinished bathtub/tile/ grout area. Then, I started looking even more in the morning because another guest that was with me got a few bites on their leg in the middle of the night (about 4 or 5). Which is obviously very concerning because there are definitely bites, and they were itching (I have pictures). I noticed hair, debris, and what definitely looked like a couple of bug legs and other debris in the bed. At this point I was disgusted. I had checked out the indoor pool BEFORE this as well, as the pictures looked promising for the indoor pool. Definitely misleading. It was so miserably hot and humid in the indoor pool area, nobody but two kids and one adult was in there. (The hotel we went to after packing and leaving this one was cool, and you could actually breathe). The pool reeked of chlorine, which is obvious good for cleaning purposes. However, it was so strong in the indoor pool area, that it was hard to breath in there, especially with the humidity and heat already. Several other people said the same thing as they were leaving the area after we instantly walked out. Needless to say, we didn't get in the pool. We went and hit downtown Gatlinburg, and grabbed dinner. We was planning on staying more than 1 night, but wasn't 100% sure. So, we are glad we didn't book this room for more than one night since around midnight I started seeing bugs, and then that morning when everyone was up, and we started examining the room even closer, we all saw the other. I slept in a bit because it was hard for me to go sleep after seeing all the bugs and debris because it really scares me and is disgusting. So before I woke up to tell the guests with me about the situation, they went down to get breakfast at 7:30 like we were told. The continental breakfast was nothing like what is pictured. It was supposed to be at 7:30, but wasn't out there at that time. Then the lady wasn't friendly at all. Breakfast was awful, hotel was awful. We packed up after I woke up & found another hotel to go to for the remainder of our vacation which was a hassle, we checked out, and went straight to another hotel to stay the rest of the vacation. Experience was overall terrible, and we left and went straight to another hotel to stay for the remainder of vacation. Will not be back. This was terrible, and the inconvenience of having to get another hotel and pack everything up, load it back up, just to move to another hotel because of bugs, bites, debris, unfriendly staff, and dirty hotel rooms. Very disappointed.

Home away from home The rooms were updated and beautiful, the bathroom had plenty of hot water for three people at any given time, the free breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage as far as the hot foods went, also could make waffles & workers were phenomenal. Ask for anything and they would get it or tell you where it was. You could catch a trolly to take you just about anywhere for free, not far from the hotel and that was a plus. Getting in and out of parking lot was the biggest issue we had, but even that was doable. The entrance snuck up on you and was there before you knew it. It was a bit of a tight squeeze maneuvering around the small parking lot. The swimming pool was open 24/7 unless there was a storm and you could also have a bonfire on the patio off from the pool. Only drawback was no hot tub. Really could have used that after all the walking.

Overnight Stay Great stay!! Bed was really firm but my Hubby loved it. Nice view of the river from the balcony. Very relaxing. Shower was nice and warm. Decor was basic but great. The street noise can be annoying at night but overall I enjoyed my stay and will be back.
