EXCELLENT LOCATION This hotel is located in the middle of the tourist area of Gatlinburg. It is within easy walking to ALL attractions and restaurants. Our room was very spacious with a nice view of the creek and wildlife. Breakfast, which was included, was very good.

Sadly this property is no more We did not know when we booked way back in July that we were here on the last night of this centrally located property. It could not have been in a better place and hopefully it's replacement will take advantage of the streams on either side of the hotel. We came out of breakfast to see many people stripping everything from rooms in preparation for its demolition. I hope the staff get jobs ,particularly in light of the dreadful fires in the area.

Great get-a-way town The city of Gatlinberg was very nice. We spent a lot of our time on the mountain. As for the room, it could use an update. I was skeptical about the spa tub in the bathroom. The beds were clean and comfortable. Service at check in and check out was smooth and fast.

I love this small town fill of a motel instead of hotel This is a hidden gem, a paradise, I hope you made it thru the fire and will stay a small motel, instead of a cold unfeeling hotel! My husband and I loved the fact that it was so peaceful yet so close to all the happening things, It was amazingly quiet at night in this little alcove , we slept well and played hard in the pool and play ground, we walked the little river's edge and watched the ducks....I really hate large hotels, too impersonal and not private enough, We felt very safe here with our grandchildren on vacation! The outdoor grills on the one side was a bonus as well , we stayed here three times over the years and want to come and stay more often but like it is....not some unfeeling hotel. It needs to stay quaint like the rest of Gatlinburg, not become another Pigion Forge!

The Last Visitors Sadly, they day after we stayed here the mean ole bulldozers were coming to destroy this landmark hotel. The Margarita-ville high rise chain will be coming next. Bigger is not better in my opinion. I stay for the atmosphere and Twin Island had it in plenty. The river wrapped around all sides of this hidden gem. You never have to get in your car again, walk to every Restaurant and shop from here. They served a REAL buffet breakfast for free! With a heavy heart we walked around the hotel by the river on the morning we left and possibly we may have been the last visitors to do so. High rises have ruined Panama City and now they are gunning for our beloved Gatlinburg. Goodbye Mom and Pops places, we will miss the warm atmosphere and memories.
